Managed to fix the leak. It was the rear 3/4 window rubber. The silver one will be up for sale next month. Will do a proper for sale ad, but please feel free to pm me if interested and you have any questions. The reason for the sale? A very tidy mk3 fiesta came along and I couldn't resist. Will start a separate thread when it arrives.

Looking nice. Spotlights suit it, but personally prefer the dartboard steelies to the pepperpots

Only put the pepperpots on for a bit more grip in winter. Xs steels going back on for the sale. The spots will probably come off when I sell it. May consider putting them on my red one, but quite like a clean look on that car. A shame to sell, but I didn't like have two cars the same...and the fiesta was too good to pass up. Also identical to my mum's car that I learnt to drive in at 17 😀

It's been a while since I posted anything about this car. It's out of winter storage and getting a weekly trip to the supermarket. Still thinking about that 1.4 tu3s xs engine. Does anybody know if it will run on a standard inlet manifold and carb? I know the xs engine is all about the carb, but they are hard to track down at reasonable money. Wondered it could run on a lesser car until I find one?

Do believe the hype! Had a cracking day using Wurth Bumper Dye giving the little 205 a freshen up. It really is as good as people say. Well worth 27 quid!

May also have found a twin choke solex carb,so I can start collecting bits and getting the XS TU3S ready to go in... I'm a long way off but excited to get the ball rolling.

Great work with the bumper dye. I'm gonna have to attack mine with it at some point too. Looking forward to tu3s updates!

Had a delivery this week. Looks like the 1400 XS is starting to get off the ground. If anybody has any helpful tips, please feel free to comment!

Gave the old girl a wash and drive today. Needs an exhaust for mot. Still building the 1.4 and currently refurbishing the white 14" wheels.

Nothing much to report, other than a pleasing MOT pass. Done a huge 1400 miles in the last 18 months since previous MOT. MOT inspector said it was "spot on" so happy with that. Still got the white wheels to finish refurb on and 1400cc engine to fit (need a 5 speed gear box)...

Thanks very much - yes it seems like good stuff. Going to replace the silver trim in the spring. Oddly, saw another red 205 on the way home... doesn't happen very often around here these days

Very clean car ! Got to love the simplicity of the design of a standard 205, most of the ones left one the roads around here are GTIs with big bumpers, wheel arches, big side moldings etc...
It seems someone at Wurth was inspired by your car
