Do any radio stations still broadcast on am? Think i need to binge read some 205 threads in the hope it boasts my mojo,my poor car has been off the road nearly a year now, and I've got nothing to offer excuse wise.

It does pick up something...although we don't really have much signal here (Wales). It's not my daily, so not too bothered. I can imagine that it's difficult to keep the enthusiasm going at times; it's easy to be motivated when you've just got it!

Not been up to much with this, other than cleaning, enjoying, driving. Put the 13s back on for winter. Tried to replace the indicater on the driver side as it is the original, 30 year old, milky one. The passenger has obviously been replaced as it is much better condition. The one I bought was £6 new on eBay. It doesn't really fit at all (surprise). Will have to think again. Cracked the edge of the original one too when removing the headlight.

That looks mint, fairplay.
If I'm right, 205s don't really rust all that too bad compared to its predecessors due to zinc blasted plates and what not.
Where in Wales are you based? Should definitely get all of that sealed up if there's no rust under there!

Thanks beansbeansbeans, there is very little rust to speak of. One of the sills has had a patch at some point and a couple of tiny bubbles on the front wing. Haven't got it up on ramps yet for a look. I'm up near Knighton, how about you? Looks like you're a fiesta owner from your picture. love a fiesta but too expensive for me for a decent one

Sadly, the (Talbot and Peugeot) dealer front plate has developed a crack, so ordered these to replace them. The originals can go away for safe keeping and I'll use these instead. Also bought a cheap 1999 fiesta zetec to run over the winter to avoid using the 205...good mechanically but tatty otherwise. Added some 5 spoke Sierra alloys, but plan to sell in the spring. I'll post some pics up when I get chance.

Decided my 15inch steels are probably too big for the pug...they kill what little power the 954cc engine has. Decided to stick them on the fiesta instead 😁

Finally managed to get these wheels sorted out - loads of rubbing at the rear by the sounds of it, although can't see why. Anybody any suggestions of how to solve I Tyres are 185/60/14. Would spacers on the back help? If so, what size? Help appreciated 😀

Morning
From memory you cannot get away with that width of tyre as the arch is too narrow. The GTi body shells had a different design with the top of the arch sitting higher so the tyre wouldn't rub.
Don't know if rolling the arch is possible?

Thanks domrr,
I have heard this about the difference in the wheel arch, especially when trying to fit 15inch wheels, but thought 14 would be ok. Do you think the tyre width or profile is the issue? Rolling not really possibly on a 205 I think.

Hi
Width is the issue. I had 14's on a 205 XLD with 165/70 13's and they were pretty tight in the arches. It was suggested, by a tyre fitter (!), that the arches could be rolled but I don't think it would have looked right if even possible.
I have a 205 Gentry (one day soon hopefully back on road) which has the GTi body shell and wears 185/60 14's with no rubbing even when 5 up in the car.
