Not being competitive but if I knew the car better & had bigger balls I could have taken the corners a lot quicker - I kinda want to keep the car the same shape though
It was just brilliant fun for all of us - fast or slow, some cars were reaching 127mph on the straight before the s's - I was doing 50! Put's it into perspective. There were some seriously quick cars there.
Yours is the first footage I have seen from the day, so I only compared to yours as it was the video above..... and I had no expectation of being fast....
As you say no one was there to crash, we all just wanted to have a bit of a play up the hill.... it was just that with the additional 360hp you made the straights look very short (which I would have loved to have done) the esses were really tricky as I needed to carry speed just to get through them but also wanted to slow down a bit more going into them! and there was a noticeable difference between being on and off of the throttle which wasn’t quite as apparent (if you listen carefully there is a bit more noise )
But we really enjoyed it too, and had started to carry a little more speed, so it was becoming addictive already..... wouldn’t be hard to big bore to 1600 and if we kept the compression down we could turbo... or supercharge it....
Well, as a rough guide these two vids are 1:13 and 1:27 respectively.
Blackpop clearly had far greater power but had to tiptoe round the corners. You had a slower top speed but you kept that speed fairly consistently all the way up. Considering the difference in cars a difference of 14 seconds in video length isn't too shabby sir in my opinion.
Let's be honest if you both did the 1/4 mile the gap would be a lot bigger!
What sort of an answer is that....
One is a beautiful hand crafted artisan lovely powerful automobile that was engineering and at times reengineered and the other....... the other is a collection of beetle parts joined with scaffold pipe by a 12 year old
We are very proud of our scaffold tubes and beetle parts, but I watched the video and saw lots of acceleration, we really struggled to accelerate, so I guess when I watched it I could see a real difference between the two runs, regardless of the actual times
Now go and sit on the stairs and watch the two again until you are ready to agree that mine is slow and his is quick
I didn't take many pics either, for once I wanted to see a show for myself rather than running around taking pics for the day and then realising I hadn't really seen anything for myself. Plus I assumed the forum would be deluged with pic threads... looks like everyone had the same idea!
