I know the feeling. About ten years ago I found a manual 1300 countryman, in white, just like the one in those pics, with about 15000 miles. He wanted about £1200 for it (modern car dealer, didn't have a clue about classics) I put a deposit on it only to get home and find my father was taken ill. I had no choice but to loose the deposit and the chance of owning the most honest and original car I could ever have owned. I don't know if a manual or auto is worth more, but it really was untouched and original. TBH it wouldn't have stayed that way for long. OEM+ GT spec would have happened. Very much so.
Mind you, there would have been a lot of occasions where I could have used my crystal ball, I was around so much for so long.
