I test drove a new HRV back in the day, as we needed a new lease car. Felt like what is was a Honda on stilts made of jelly - which was a shame as I really wanted to like it. It was horrid, and ended up with the last of the K-series Freelanders instead.

However, I still want one right now.

I used to work at a honda garage and grew to love civics, these feel the same in a way, except on stilts. Itd be interesting to know if they can be bought lower to the ground to feel more civic-like. I do love the idea of the 2dr.

It’s a funny one for me because I’ve always liked the CRV so don’t see it as dull! Any reviews or test drives resulting in jelly wobble stilts comments can usually be overcome with a good set of coil overs if you’re willing to spend money above the initial purchase price.

I really want a reason to buy a crv. I guess it depends on your styling preferences but I have to photograph this every time I see it... This is reason enough, providing you have extra buckets of cash to through at suspension modifications

I was toying with the idea when i bought a 4x4 last winter, as all i really needed was something to deal with the awful road we end up with and the flooding, so id probably be shooting myself in the foot if i lowered it 😂, they always look really good though.

Before I bought my 5 series I was seriously considering a Honda CRV off the back of seeing this image Ultimately I ended up with the 5 series due to needing something quickly and there being no decent looking CRV's around at the time

you cant really polish one (ok , i know it has been done ) but you can sprinkle a little glittery fairy magic on them. just 'coz everyone else rates a crv makes the hrv more appealing to see done. (though why some would spend so much time making a crv look like a forrester is beyond me....just do the job right and get a scooby in the first place!!)

I did a photoshop of one a little while back for my SUVs rethunk as retro wagons thread and think it definitely needs a bit of low and some nice gold Rota rims I used to prefer the three door but as a practical wagon and low I think the fiver suits it better - it's kind of like a baby Volvo V70 especially from the rear, so don't think MoarDoar is so bad. I only know how to lower them using pixels so can't chime in with tips, but I recall reading on Wikipedia something about it being based on the JDM model one size smaller than the Civic at the time - The Honda Logo, so you'd probably do well looking for bits from that model to lower it in the same way us Forester bods use Impreza shocks/springs to get them lower without having to go for coilovers. I also love CRVs. One with an S2000 engine plz! (like this) (okay maybe with a bit less camber)

supplemental: I think a body-colour wrap on a three-door to turn it into a panel van seems like a splendid idea

I really like the 3 dr model. I even like this gold thing. We took one for a spin when they came out in Holland. I did not mind it at all. Buuut Grizz your Berlingo is much handierer!!

I LOVE the HRV. Nearly bought one a few years ago but went for the finance option on a civic instead.
But I am looking for a winter car and this would fit the bill, if 4x4.
