Automatic 3l 24v straight 6 with 204bhp. Despite being such a big beast it's got plenty go to cruise around with.
We bought it in February for some summer road trips and now it's time to move it on, we've done around 2000 miles in it across the country to various events and weekends away, it's proved itself to be the ideal road trip vehicle for up to 8 people.
Although it was purchased as a bit of fun it has been looked after, the oil and filters were changed as soon as we purchased it. We also fitted a new radiator as the original had a leak.
It's an 8 seater with 3 rows of seats, however, as shown in the pictures, the middle row pivots forwards to create a 5 seater with around 3 miles of legroom for the back seat passengers. Unlike the majority of limos of this type, the middle row of seats are proper seats and just as comfy as all the others.
Being a 1996 car on 150k, the car is not without it's faults, however none are serious.
As shown in the picture of the dash cluster, the temp gauge sits slightly over half way, it has never budged from this point once warmed up and it gets to temperature pretty quick. I suspect the wrong thermostat has been fitted at some point.
The speedo has an intermittent fault where it shows no reading. This is apparently a common problem with 960's and solved with either a replacement unit or a bit of soldering and some new diodes, there are plenty of guides online for this. It never bothered us as we used a satnav for speed.
There are some signs of wear and tear around the body, although as you might expect from an ex funeral hire car, it's in pretty decent nick for it's age!
All in all a good solid car with nothing immediate needing done to it, ideal for road trips, funerals, weddings, proms, carting the family around....the possibilities are endless!
Cheers
