Wow, just wow! 😳 I tried to do something similar, but had to admit defeat. Thanks, have another go if you ever get the chance. That looks great ! Nice job James Thankyou James. Bish bash bosh, sew it all together and there’s your seat. You make it look easy. 😀 Its a shame I couldn't put the rest of the photos up, it would have been in a bit more detail. Cool! Amazing work, looks perfect. One day I will get round to having a go at learning the art of sewing, not sure I have the patience yet Definitely have a go at it, its very satisfying when it comes together. Thanks George.

Nicely done! Looks a great job.
Having had a brief go at trimming, when doing my motorbike seat with a similar technique, I can attest to how it's one of those things that's both relatively simple in concept but really tricky to get looking good. My sewing wasn't as straight as that!

You have all the skillidge Jack of all trades, master of none (unfortunately) Nice job. You seem to have all the kit so do you do this for a living? Thanks Mark - I qualified once upon a time as a traditional upholsterer (furniture) so am using those skills to try and get good (better) at trimming. I am a general builder by trade. You are right, it is just cutting patterns out that will fit the seat and fixing them together, but every time I do it I can still see lots of room for improvement and always say " should of done that slightly differently ". I guess that's all part of learning.

Just to add my tiny voice to the chorus of admiration. I'm currently darning the kid's blanket so hate everything about sewing right now... except looking at pictures of yours...

The truck has an opening windscreen, which was totally seized shut and the bottom half of the screen was in a rough state. First thing was to get the screen open, with a bit of WD40 and some wiggling it started moving but it was clear that the condition of the frame was very bad. Not good, as I read someone in the US had to pay over $1000 for one, I didn't have an option but to get the screen open as carefully as possibly and have a go at repairing what was left of it. With it finally out I could have a good look at it. First I had work out how the glass come out - the glass was very broken so I taped over the glass to keep together for a template. So the screen frame is in 2 halves, split horizontally through the middle. Where to start?? I looked at the profile that I needed to try and make and set about cutting some narrow strips on Zintec and folding them and wrapping them around various things. Unfortunately with all the tapping and folding I was inadvertently stretching the metal which was making the section into a banana. This was very quickly turning pear shaped - (ok, ok too many fruit puns?)It also wasnt really the correct profile, oh nuts! That effort went on the scrap pile. I walked away from it and got on with other bits, but yesterday I returned with a fresh head. So I cut some steel and folded them 90' then used this wonderful tool which seems to have saved the day and did some of this when welded together started to make some progress So this has formed the rebate for the glass to sit Starting to take shape, with another 90' curved round and a closing piece to the top With one side good, I did the same to the other Top section was a flat piece but still stretched to the correct shape All of the above a bit of a faff and it probably took 2.5 full days but it has result in one solid screen frame.

Thanks for the kind words. This one. Its a bit rough as you can see, and its also a bit low - I like it low, but its on its bumpstops all round, so I need to probably higher (opposite of lower) it abit. It is MOT exempt but I want to MOT it for safety reasons and peace of mind so I have a few jobs to do. The lights need sorting as it still has the rear brake lights and indicators on the same circuit, so I get a flashing red brake light when I indicate and brake at the same time - this is legal on pre 65 cars but obviously it confuses people who are following you. There is some play in the rear wheel bearings, so that will need sorting along with new kingpins up front probably. It also needs a new windscreen. I think I did ok price wise I got it for a lot less than the advertised price so hopefully, fingers crossed I wont feel too "Done" when it is done. The paint is staying as it is, love it or loathe it! It makes the right noise though. It is 3 on the tree which takes a bit of getting used to, especially when trying to do rather swift changes - havnt quite mastered that yet. Also got the last few bits painted for the other truck.

oooo i'm liking the look of the F100.
What is the front end setup to get it that low? My mate has a set of dream beams he is putting on the front of his to get it to sit like yours. The back end has an axle flip and is sitting 1 inch from the bump stops. So he is making his mind up currently as to whether to notch the chassis or flip the axle back over and then not lower the front... So many decisions.

That's Interesting as I'm going through the same thoughts myself...
The front of mine has the coils cut, that's it. This messes up the camber and as I said before has put it on the bump stops… I have been thinking of getting some dream beams which I think are a 3" drop, and I may cut a tiny bit off the coils (new coils, not my existing ones obviously).
The rear of mine is the same as your mates - the axle has been flipped, so virtually on the bump stops. I was thinking of putting the axle back under the springs and getting 4" drop shackles. I have decided not to notch the chassis to keep everyone happy.
Where did your mate get his dream beams? If he decides not to use them, il buy them! Is he on RR?
