it struck me the other day that I really do find it nicer to drive a car with the old style "organ" pedal, although modern cars universally seem to have the pendulum type. So I wondered if I am unusual in my prefference? So please chose your favoured pedal type. In case anyone is disabled I have included hand contro options to meet DDA requirements...

Prefer the organ style pedal as well. Had quite a few cars with them Beetle, Mercedes etc, and found them to be a lot better comfort wise on long runs. Some of the pendulum type have been better to use than others though. I liked the pedal design on my mkV Cortina for example.

My first car had floor hinged pedals, so that's probably what I like best. Depends though, the feel you get is down to more than where the pedal is hinged. The best brakes feel is from the Porsche drum brakes on my VW, they just feel so up to the task. The best throttle feel was on my old Tatra which didn't use a throttle cable but a rod linkage, it was just like pressing on the carb under the bonnet. Current Mitsubishi Galant has cruise control which gets in the way of things so the throttle is a bit like pressing through a sponge. Just to help, because I didn't think this thread was obscure enough

I don't mind either. It'd be nice to have a car with the pedals actually straight in front of me though...

Always a problem on LHD > RHD conversions....Worse is the AX with it's offset cramped pedal box.....Nice to have master cylinder on the proper side too for better brake feel.....

Organ pedal please.
Skoda estelle's have them. BMW E30's have them. These are the two most entertaining-to-drive cars I have owned. Class.

Mine was an organ. Then it fell off, so now it's a pendulum. Can't really notice any difference to be honest. I'm thinking about putting something else on the stump instead of the original organ pedal... not sure yet. Gotta patch the floor underneath first, as that's what caused the pedal to fall off in the first place
