Had a little look about it today
Really wanna get this engine going, just so I can have a drive about, and have the old car ‘experience’ 😂
Doesn’t start, bloke had to stick a screw driver between the terminals on the starter solenoid
He also had to put the fuel down the carb as it wasn’t getting fuel to show me engine works
I’ve blown an air gun down the fuel line, it’s clear, so i guess it’s the pump
Put water in it and came straight out the bottom, what looks like the water pump/gasket
The clutch pedal doesn’t return, or feel connected to anything, it’s had a new m/c, but there is a new slave cylinder in the boot, so il be giving that a try
So parts to buy
Starter solenoid/switch
Fuel pump (think it’s just the diaphragm)
Water pump

Should I be looking for parts for a 107e engine then?
(Even though the vin plate says it’s a 100e)

Should I be looking for parts for a 107e engine then? (Even though the vin plate says it’s a 100e) The ford pre-crossflow fuel pumps are all basically the same so provided you get one for a 107E Prefect, 105E Anglia, Mk1 Cortina it should fit - I think even later crossflow pumps fit (Mk1 and 2 Escorts, Mk2 Cortinas) so you should be able to find one. Not a 100E pump though - they have side valve engines and are completely different (I would ignore what the chassis plate says). good luck Cortinaman

Clutch is possibly (probably) frozen to the flywheel. Not a hard job to free it but the engine needs to be running.

It’s a job to make out as I’m on my phone but I reckon you’ve got an ordinary Prefect that’s had a pre crossflow put in it. The engine looks quite far forwards and the bulkhead doesn’t look like it’s got the 107E recess in it. Regardless it looks like a great project 😎. Mine’s got a Pinto, type 9 and a 105E axle, with the front end being a home brew mix of Escort and Capri bits. There is a thread on here but I think photofucket has eaten the pictures 😩

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place

Have read that I can use an axle from a Suzuki rascal/supercarry
Only 1/2’’ wider than the 105e
Anyone heard of doing this?

you have a 100e, fitted with a 109e engine and box. it isnt 107e spec. look for a 1600 xflow, it bolts right in.

I remember those slaves sticking years ago, try some heat and twisting it back and forth but if that does not work you will need to cut the old slave off each side( pretty easy with an angle grinder, saw a slit or 2 in what is left and knock the remains out.
