Anyone use those cheaper Willwood brake kits from Rally Design? 4 pots, vented disc etc for like £260 the lot. Thinkig of going that route on the Mk3 rather than the usual Capri/Granada hybrid route. Price of 2.8i discs there says might as well...
Anyone used the Willwoods like to share experiance of them?

my van runs the willwood conversion from rally designbut its not as cheap as it seems though you still have to buy the pads and hoses and make sure you ask for a 90degree outlet on the hoses as they foul on the springs otherwise also you have to pay extra for drilled and grooved other than that they are very good oh one other thing that is not mentioned is that the spacers for the callipers need machining down depending on what size disks you use

Cheers Mark. I don't want drilled or grooved discs, plain vented ones are fine. I did wonder if pads and hoses were included but hadn;t got as far as picking up the phone to ask. What do you mean about the caliper spacers needing machining? Sorry to sound dumb.
Penski, normal budget route is to fit Capri 2.8i discs and Granada V6 calipers. Needs some special braided hoses as the outlets are in the wrong place and such but gives vented discs and 50% greater pad area. But last I heard 2.8i Capri discs are selling for £100+ which is madness. Add a pair of recon Granny calipers and its as cheap to buy the Willwood kit.
No idea what kind of adapting would be needed to fit the stuff Will has on the Capri onto a Cortina. I know he used the Caprisport kit and I think even then it needed modifying and messing about with.

nothing major they have 2 small spacers that the calipers bolt on to that spaces them out to what ever size disks you have only when you get them they are normaly for 300mm disks so need shortening or the pads will run off the end of the disk i'll probably have the wheels off the van over the weekend at some point so i'll take some pics to show ya
