1970 Ginetta G15

Cut some more stainless - mourned the loss of one of the grinders - thought about getting new bearings and brushes and re..... nah RIP





Cut some chassis sleeves for future welding on G15 chassis





Found the centre caps for the Revo's that I sold to norfolkginetta - will be in touch and get them posted over. As found a bit of info whilst reading an article on a modsport G15 - the limitation in the class rules was 7.5 inch rims.





Here are a few pictures of the stand with completed welds and the extra limb - I changed the rear mount to make fitting the transaxle mount bolts easier. Dropped on the large bore with the fully ported CD150 manifold. Welded captive bolts to the front mount. End of the top member is sharp and so it got protected otherwise I would be sporting more shin wounds than normal.




















Need to order up some casters to make shifting it about easier until such time I build a frame to mount it on - Lower part of the frame will house a fuel tank, fuel pump, battery, rad, oil cooler etc.

Cleaned up and started the welding on the other rear wishbone - will get steel reinforcing sections cut out for both wishbones and the rest of the welding done during the week.





Getting these done and painted will get them out of the way making room for Stratos parts.

Nowt wrong with an Xperia phone

Made a nut alignment sleeve. When doing the previously door hinges I was doing the alignment by feel which although worked fine took quite a bit of time to do moving the nut and bolt to get it central over the clearance hole. this time round its all aligned perfectly first time.















Only have to align ten of these nuts on plates for the upper door frame mounting but it just makes life that little bit easier.

Faster hinges! - 25% weight reduction








Hopefully the hole cutter will last producing two sets - BOY and SNP

So far we are six holes in and the hole saw is showing no signs of any issues. Slow speed and plenty of cutting fluid seems to be the way, and making sure that the temperatures are kept low, no smoke being a really good thing.





Not much else done as I was getting some sun and exercise walking the hill at Loton Park. No pictures from today even with 3 Ginetta's being in attendance.

If setting up to make three sets of something may as well throw another couple in if you know there is a need/market for them. But that's it for hinges not making any more. The only thing that I may look into doing in the future is window frames for the doors. If I can find a local company to cut and fold the channel I will make a batch of those as I need two sets.

There are only 3 things that are difficult to get hold of for a G15 - Chassis - Window frames - Door Hinges.
