it is on lowered springs but needs to come down more if it doesn't settle lower. It has only done about 40miles since they were fitted.

my experience of lowered springs is that after a couple months use you get another inch or so (wehay)

Got hold of a set of clocks from a ghia, with a rev counter popped my clocks and swapped my speedo head into them. the wiring is different but the plugs are the same across all models. Luckily within the spares I got with the car is a full loom to use as spare plugs, so thats what I did, lobbed the plugs with a length and spliced in to the oe loom on a fly lead. This way nothing has been cut car side and can go back to stock if needs be. While the clocks were out I thought I'd take knock up a lights on warning as I've been caught out already knocking the sidelights on and draining the battery a couple of times. Just need to find a suitable buzzer and connect up the coil feed then screw it all back together.

I think you will need a diode, from memory 87a is closed with the relay not energised and with the doors closed you will be grounding the interior light via the side lights.
I usualy don't bother with the relay at all, just go door switch, diode, buzzer, sideights.

not much to report really. springs haven't dropped any more so I'm going to have to find some lower ones. I've fitted the central locking. I had an issue with a fouled plug a few weeks back causing it to run on three, really must pull the head and do the stem seals, but a mate was round at the time and happened to have a nos dizzy in his van going begging. I had already ordered an electronic ignition conversion, so this was fitted to the brand new dizzy. dialled in and the carb tuned with cleaned plugs. running spot on👍 Have had a lead on an atlas axle, fingers crossed it somes off, then an engine conversion is on the cards

Bit of an update. valve seals were in need of doing. priced up having unleaded seat machined in and it wasn't going to be cheap. did a bit of digging around and ended up picking up a rebuilt 2litre with injection head cheaply managed to grab a couple of hours between jobs yesterday stripped the ancillary bits off and pulled it. managed to swap the clutch and fly wheel over and get it back. then doing the lower bellhousing bolts noticed the sump was on the cross member. Doh! managed to lift it in the bay just enough to get the sump off. had to remove the pick up pipe to get it out. just got to wait on the rain to stop now to get back on it!

Sump and pickup swapped out and starting to go back together. Unfortunately amongst my vast array of spare gaskets I don't have a water pump gasket and can't get one till Monday. Knocked up a rig to pressure test a spare rad I had as the one it was running has a small weep.Going to check the valve clearances then I can button it up once the gasket arrives.

You could have done that by cutting a mountain bike inner tube opposite the valve, and clamping it onto the radiator outlets.
