Wheels are spot on - but where do I get alloy wheel bolts from?
Never knew there was a difference but the steel bolts definitely don’t work with alloys!
I’ve looked and I know I need M12 x 1.5 bolts. Not sure how long they need to be but the original steel bolts look to be about 40mm.
Any recommendations?

up rated shocks would help the originals will be past there best, the ride will still be harsh lowered springs are alot stiffer than the originals

The shocks don’t look that old, I’m wondering if they are cheaper items though hence the ride.
When there is a bit of time I might have to take out and check serial numbers to see where they came from!

Might be far from perfect but does make me smile every time I get the chance to use it. Here is a picture update. The trim ended up being removed and the front bumper due to a bit of corrosion which I home remedied. Not perfect but I am happy with it. Still after some coilovers to hopefully improve the ride bit it’s funny how you get used to it before long. I posted recently about a brake piston issue within the caliper which is much much better since a bit of corrosion cleaning. Will be looking to get myself a rebuild kit of replacement soon. Main reason I bought this car was to take the family to shows and enjoy the odd weekend blast. Might need to think about moving on now that my doggy is getting a little older and might need something a little bigger/comfier but we will see!

Turns out the suspension was never an issue, just the wheels making the ride so harsh - runs smoother than ever now!

Turns out the suspension was never an issue, just the wheels making the ride so harsh - runs smoother than ever now! I had a (non-Retro) Merc like that. It was on 20 inch AMG rims when I got it and it was all over the place. Got a set of the 18s it should have had and like you, it was problem solved.

I was surprised what a difference it made really. Much happier little car now though and doesn’t rub at all any more which is a bonus too

Haven’t updated in a long time. Looking to restore some bits this year, tidy up the engine bay. Would love to add some more power at some point so would be good to strip apart the engine bay and see what I’m working with.

Visited some friends yesterday who let me have a go in their 90s Japanese cars.
S13, MX5 and an MR2.
Starting to think it might be time to move on to another bit of fun after a few years of enjoyment...
