My daughter snapped this one whilst getting her car serviced yesterday. Technically it's not abandoned now because the garage was having a look. Tax disc was from 2000. Thanks for posting this up, where is it? North Manchester. I've seen it in close and spoken to the bloke who has just sold it today. One owner, in a garage for 20odd years. It's very rotten but the new owner has plans apparently.

Pity, it looked restorable, aside from the roof damage - was it get rolled, or did something heavy fall on it? well, a roof collapsed on it and not sure if it made sense to restore it - at least not over here . of course it had some parts that could have been saved, but since Brexit most of my not so nice cars or scrappers have lost in value, as it´s more complicated to send/bring stuff over.

I wonder how many of the Mk1+2 escorts are back on the road?

One of the rally firms is importing escorts from places such as Malta, transporter loads at a time. Presumably most of those get restored, and all the bits are available, including new shells

If you do decide to go for one of these, don't bother with the 3.2, get the latest, best 4.0 you can find, preferably the 370 bhp R. I have a buyer's guide available FOC to anyone who can use it, I'll even pay the postage. PM me.

Hi all, it's a long time ago
Still found by my friend, whose Volkswagen Passat B2 FDV 579Y I showed you recently. It is in France, department of Calvados (14).
I need to have your opinion. Here is a 1982 BMW E24 which was abandoned in 2002. No information on the Mitsubishi Delica Mk2 aside.
Registered at 19 october 1982 in Luton (KX).
It is in manual gearbox (which is rarer than in automatic gearbox) and has a cylinder of 3453cc: it's a 635 CSi Mk1 with the old engine. From 1983, cylinder was reduced to 3430cc.
But I have a problem: indeed according to the DVLA this BMW is black. It could have been repainted, it's true, but the interior door jamb is gray. Furthermore, there are sticker stripes all over car body which is typical of M635 ... but which were produced only from 1984.
So, real 635 CSi disguised as M635 ? Or a 635 CSi registration used on a real M635 ? I don't know, but I think some here will be able to say more.
Thanks !

Are you sure the plate is from that car, if it wasn't attached to it when you found it? Can you get the VIN? I believe there's a way to do a HPI check (which may get more information) based on the VIN.

Unfortunately, I don't have the VIN but I can ask my friend to go back to it, I should also go see it myself within a few weeks normally
There is also this 1988 Volvo 740GL SW which is not far, abandoned in 2006

The BM will have the M90 engine, if it is indeed 3453cc. It certainly looks like the standard car's SOHC engine rather than the DOHC M88 engine as fitted to the M-variant. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_6_Series_(E24)

I am pretty sure that most E24s had those stripes; I owned two of them, both having the stripes. This is the B9 635Csi which I owned for 26 years, sold about 10 years ago for 50% more than I paid for it.
