I don’t know if this has engine problems or if it’s just the rear door dent that put it out of use but I’m tempted to find out and clean it up and sell it on or keep it a few years if it’s still running. 4 door Mondeo (hatch or saloon?) on an L plate… The older they get the more I like Mk1 Mondeo saloons, is that an LX flavour?

Yes it is. I drove a green 1.8 LX on an N plate for a short while in 2000 when I borrowed the work pool car after I gave my Dolomite away. I remember thinking how fast it was compared to the only two other cars I’d driven - a 1.3 Ka I learned in and a badly serviced Dolomite.

If you even think about mentioning the cars to the owner, he gets very very defensive, and virtually accuses of plotting to steal them. Ask me how I know...
(There's a mk3 Astra there, i wasn't even interested in the Capri or Mini)

Spotting this on my travels in Bristol. Tucked away on down a side street on a housing estate. looks rather good to be abandoned, From a Distance anyway, but no recorded MOT

This poor thing has been sat for years, most of that time with only a Bikini soft top on, I'm not sure how long the hard top has been on. It was a nice looking example when it was parked.

MOT history says it's done about 138,000 miles, and there's reports of rear subframe, brake pipes and seatbelt anchorage corrosion.

Sure;y that has to be salvageable. Probably, but I'd expect the floor pans to be rotten, the cabin was open to the elements for a few years before the hard top was put on.

back to abandoned/unloved vehicles - this mini pickup has had so much quality bodywork done - flared arches and not a crack in sight. Masses of cash spent on this thing and now just sits on a public road in sidcup, with a lot of leaves. I far preferred the way it used to look though - much cleaner. Those arches don't work for me - The red one with the subtle side skirts looks perfect. Is this still there? Yes sadly. Surprisingly no one has complained about it not moving for ages/being abandoned, which surprises me as they complain about brand new Audis being left for more than 2 weeks around here......

If someone left an Audi outside my house I’d complain too😀 ( unless it was a genuine quattro obvs.....)
