I'm amazed no-one has attempted to rescue it, but presumably it's well hidden out of most folks' view... Where is it, near Carmarthen, presumably? It's near Llanelli. I'm surprised kids haven't smashed all the glass and set fire to it. I suppose there's an Xbox game for that now so kids don't have to get off their arses.

The rear screen alone is 500 quid second hand - sad.

Old 190D 2.5 abandoned on the streets of Chatham. Sad end to this old classic Saw that on my way home - surely he will be back? Exactly opposite where that Merc's dumped is the Montego hearse that been sat in the Amherst car park for ages! I keep meaning to get a photo of it. I've got a picture of that! Can't find it now though. It's manual too. I asked in the shop and they don't wanna sell it - they use it for their Halloween events.

And one of the local funeral directors still has a Montego hearse in use!

Looks to be a Ford Vedette. A sort of shrunken '49 Mercury for the continental market, with a "baby" version of the flathead V8; 2158 cc. This is what it looked like when new. as you might expect of anything with American styling they also get hit with the custom stick.

Glad you pointed it out: I spent quite some time trying to narrow down which version of Ford Mercury it was - the front door swage line is shared with some of them!

Probably, though it would make great hot rod material, based on a custom chassis.
They were dog slow for a 2.2-litre V8 - top speed of around 80 mph and 0-60 mph in 25 seconds, about the same as a 1098cc Morris Minor, but only around 20 mpg!
