[quote author=fotorabia board=general thread=20301 post=1639799 time=1345709720 this parked quite prominently but unmoving..rare factory stretch. [/quote] Not a "stretch' as it's a normal SEL ,100 mm longer wheel base but it is rare as it has the SL engine ,if it still has it's original engine. W109 versions are SEL but have air suspension and chrome around the windows. the 280 SEL hasn't any chrome and steel springs.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

Gut instinct says Marlin Cabrio kitcar hiding under that green tarp. The blue panel just may be the protective film on the ally. Could be a very respectable car if/when finished. [EDIT : visible door hinges are putting me off now] JBA Falcon?

gouldygtr - Yep! Stolen from a friend of his and crashed pretty spectacularly. It was left there by the owner a few years ago while he waited for the insurance to get sorted out, and it hasn't moved since except for the local kids sticking fence posts through the doors to turn it upside down.

I took my Reliant race car to a nearby workshop today for a session and thought I'd show you some of the dead/dying motors in his yard... No idea what the story is on any of these, but some nice metal/fibreglass there! Slightly battered looking Esprit and a tidy Corrado. Behind is one of a few of the Imp family dotted about! Another Imp and one of a brace of RS Turbos - I think this might be a parts car for the other which looked a lot better. Orange '02 - pretty sure this one isn't abandoned but had to be worth a picture as it is gorgeous! Mk1 Fiesta, a competition car at some point but not for a while I guess (harness dated 2006). Beautiful multipoint cage in there. Nova saloon competition car (or garden ornament)... And lastly a very tired Imp (no screen in northern Scotland = some epic rust) and a Husky - can't remember the last time I saw one if ever! There was also a 911 (993 vintage I think) there that looked a little tired along with a few moderns

It's not far from me, there's always some amazing motors sat there.
