Yes, I have a club code.
I have absolutely no idea what to do with it.
Should I post it here? or is it the kind of thing one keeps top secret.
I quite literally have no idea whatsoever about club stands and RR gatherings.

Maybe we should change our club name to
UBCAC
(utterly bl**dy clueless automobile club)
Actually if we wrote it like this...
U.B-CAC, it's a bit like "You be cack".

I quite literally have no idea whatsoever about club stands and RR gatherings. This is a new method not used at the gathering any way - so that people can say which stand they’ll be on rather than the club organiser doing all the running. IMHO best just to send it in a message to people who post up here to say they’ll be on the stand. If you post it on the thread everyone might use the code and take up the 15 slots without you knowing. Not sure if you have to fill in a separate form for your car or whether there was a space on the club form for you to put your car details on?

Not sure if you have to fill in a separate form for your car or whether there was a space on the club form for you to put your car details on? So far all I've done is fill out an online form, and it asked me only for an idea of how many vehicles we expect... which is currently set at 15. 15 seems slightly ambitious to me, even factoring in Frankenhealy's behemoth. Maybe we should have a proper roll call in a week or two after we're sure nobody else is going to join us. As for filling in a form for my car, I haven't done so and I'm not aware of such a form. Hopefully this will become clear in due course.

This is the car display form .... retroridesevents.com/CarEntryOnce you’ve bought a ticket you fill this in to say you want to display, at the bottom there are two codes to enter. One is the club Id so anyone part of the BNMAC stand needs to put the code for BNMAC in there. The Order Number code is on the ticket purchase email confirmation. That’s to stop people who haven’t bought tickets entering details. As for the ambitiousness I’m sure nearer the time there will be plenty of forum members who aren’t in a club will be looking for a “club” to be part of.

I bought a camping ticket a while back but the tickets aren't being issued yet. So I assume this info should have been submitted at the point of buying the ticket... In which case, I guess I may not be able to be part of the club I created. Which is quite fitting.
I'll be sure to make a point of ignoring you all with heartfelt indifference though... the proud emporer in exile.

I'm so easily confused. But... It's months away yet. I'm sure it will all make sense nearer the time.

I'm going to have a look to see what I have received in the way of ticket confirmation tomorrow, to see if it says anything there. Let's not bother HotWire with this just yet... I imagine he could be driven insane by this sort of thing by the time the weekend rolls around.
There'll be a perfectly reasonable explanation and process, I just need to investigate.
I'm the world's first investigative emporer. They should make a TV show about me.
The car chases would be awesome. Villains, hightailing away in their F-type Jag. Me in hot pursuit, on a throne in a perspex box, held aloft by four professional marathon runners.

Also, I'll go back through this thread tomorrow and PM the club stand number to you all. Lets Keep it hush-hush and on a need-to-know basis, in case of Russian interference.

what we really need is for HoTWire to clarify...... What you really need is to look on the website : www.retroridesweekender.com ... Under the clubs bit it is all explained. It is pretty simple: book stand, people do CarEntry form with your code, they may or may not have order number already, if they do they fill that out, if they don't they can edit and fill it out later. Reminder emails will be sent in due course.

Okay Sparkers, I've just sent you all the club ref number via PM. Let me know if you haven't got it. All you do is go to the page Hotwire linked above, scroll down to this bit... Then put the BNMAC club reference number in, and your ticket order confirmation reference number, and fill in your vehicle details. Poor Frankenhealey. You have to do one per car.

I feel like we could do with just one or two more members. My mate John (wait, he's not my mate... I don't have any mates)... erm, some bloke I don't ever talk to at all who lives local to me is also joining us, so that makes 8 members (Georgb = 9). Does that sound about right or should we try and grab a few more with a bit of promotional activity on the RR forum? I forget how many vehicles FH is bringing. One of them is four cars big, and I think there are maybe 3/4 more he's bringing? So potentially we are at around 14 vehicles in terms of footprint. Is that fairly consistent with what a club usually presents at a RR gathering?

Is that fairly consistent with what a club usually presents at a RR gathering? We've had club stands as small as three cars and as large as thirty ... so you are nicely in the middle, it is a good size club. I mentally average club stands out at about 10 cars.

Okay good to know. I think I'll resist the temptation to start whoring the club around the forum then. I don't want to end up with a riot on my hands.

I have a couple of acquaintances that i barely know i could get to bring some oddity or other if needs be...
With the either or concept of which car will be working come May can this be done on one form or do you need both possibles?

I'm not sure what the answer to that is. I do know the display form only allows one car per form though.
I would guess it might be best to register just one car for now, and then if it's necessary to switch to another car closer to the date I'm sure it will be possible to declare the switch.
I think doing it the other way... ie declaring both cars now at the same time, could be misleading for the peeps organising this thing who will assume we need a bigger plot than we actually do. I'm guessing they're going to have an organisational nightmare on their hands and wont have the ability to figure out details about each individual display vehicle registered... they'll just be processing what they have received.
So registering just one and then changing the details seems like a safer bet to me personally.
