These 17" Ford Ecosport wheels seem to pay some homage to 70s granada wheels I really like them. Considered them for my Peugeot but narrow and offset and centre bore all wrong.

@elwoody - Knew you'd be on my wavelength - great idea for a thread! I kind of like those split-rims with machined OEM original centres, but I find them fussy and dislike all the little bolts holding the rims on. With modern 3D scanning and CNC machines it should be really easy to simply scale up classic 14/15"s to 17/18" or higher—updating the car but not losing that period feel that so many aftermarket wheels water down. Okay it's expensive so only people like Mr Foose can do it —but it shouldn't be out of the realm of some people's budget? I do this in Photoshop all the time (when I'm not adding Rotas / Wantabe rims) So here's an Espace with 15"s up to 17" And here's an MR2 - also sized up to 17" and an XR3i I just did for fun See? These look grrrrrrrreat!

Another under used avenue would be larger hubcaps/wheel-covers replicating original hubcaps and factory alloy wheel designs. (Like those P-slots) Cheaper & easier to custom make & could also be mounted over or in alloy wheels to keep holes open. Small old hubcaps have long been mounted in wider wheels, but rarely see newer wheelcovers recessed into bigger wider wheels (They aren't all terrible).

If you have pics, please contribute. I was thinking of this car. With original hubcaps over 7" superlight alloys, though still 13" dia. rather than the 15" I was imagining. Still qualifies, just not the way I thought. Must be others.

I'm a big fan of old OEM wheels converted to up-sized splits. This Passat 35i was the first I saw with these 17" Sebrings:

Back when I had my first W124 I would have given vital organs to own a set of Rial Arc 18" like these:

Fifteen52 also made these VW teardrop splits: And I'd love a set of these 18" ATS Cups. I'm not sure what I'd put them on though:

Whether you believe you can, or you cannot, you're probably right.

Boyd Coddington made these larger replicas of the Celica Supra alloys, available as 17/18 inch I do believe. Then this car is the one that stuck in my mind the most after Players at North Weald in September, first looking at them thinking they look like those AVO alloys on 1/2 Escorts. Looking at them closer they have Rotiform cast into one of the spokes, I was quite impressed!
