Sweet garage. Love the timber work. It suits the house a lot better than some random tin shed would. I also like how you have allowed plenty of width for working on the car as well as it being just a covered parking space. That was the whole idea really, we moved here mainly for me to have a garage so I'm not away from home all the time. makes the garge/work/life balance thing the wife goes on about a bit easier. I could of had my lads at work build a standard brick construction garage for a fraction of the price. The wife was nervous when I spoke about an oak framed garage as some just look like a big B&Q shed. The quality of the build by Oaktree Joinery is superb, not a screw in sight. The whole process has cost an arm and a leg however I don't intend in doing it again. Its also incorporated some other work on the rear of the garden with the installation of gabion baskets along the side of the stream. The driveway has been altered etc. Inside will see a flush mount scissor lift, again not the cheapest option but my current 2 post really annoys me. By far one of the best tools in the garage but I find the car is always on it/ over it, so I find I'm stepping around and over the arms and posts etc all the time. plus it dictates how the floor area is used. With the scissor lift I can move one car to the side and squeeze the wifes 205 in when needed for storage or minor spannering. Ill post up some pictures over the week, as the insulation is done, wall panels fitted and wiring first fixed.

That is a fine building you've made - should be a horse drawn coach parked in there. I hope you're not doing all that work just for that newish VW thing pictured above!

That looks awesome, similar to what I'm looking for (only 8mx6m with a big door in the side instead of the front) only my wood working ability is limited to whatever I stuck together with the glue gun back in my school days. Looking forward to seeing this progress

Been mega busy the past few weeks. Lighting and sockets are now second fixed. Outside socket power for lift, hot water heater and air to air heat pump in. Outside light and camera feeds in. Finished boarding the ceiling followed by the worst bit ....decorating. Also been doing the drive as well. Again on my own. About 70ton of class 1 mot and 12 ton of lime stone dust just going in at the moment. If the weather holds off again tonight I can do some more on the drive.

Inspiration for when MrsSE and I stop spending all our money on cars and buy somewhere to put them...!

looks too nice to be a garage your not the only one to say that, its kind of gotten out of control with the fit and finish. considering the vehicle I there will come back from most race meetings covered in mud and general curse word. However I only plan to do it this once so in for a penny and all that. its nearing completion with an artic delivering 14 ton of gravel for the drive Friday and the kerb stones for the dront of the garage entrance going in one night this week once I finally get home. only having nights after 7ish to work on it or weekends has slowed things some what recently.

Whats the betting you end up leaving the Racer outside so you don't mess the garage! Oh and Thats a small Artic!

It definetly won't be outside. Too much invested in that as well.jow the wife's 205 gti rally car. Hhmmm font fancy that leaking oil on the new floor so that might end up outside.
I say artic it's only a tipper. Think it carries 16 or so.not sure all I know is they were the cheapest on golden gravel at £45.03 +vat a ton.
I dread to count up the cost in mot and muck away grabs.must be at least 115-125 ton of class 1 mot gone into this and about 260 ton of grab wagons taken away.
That's been one of the biggest costs.

There is always somewhere close by to dump the cut to waste material. Many landowners are only too happy to take it. There is always a hole or a gully to fill somewhere.

Need to move up north. I'm kind of in that in between area, only a few minutes from civilisation but no one immediately around me, I'm far to anti social for that.
