So as the title states, I had this routine operation and would you believe it, I died for a bit, apparently I flat lined for 5mins. I mentioned this before briefly in this thread forum.retro-rides.org/thread/199118/car-related-thing So whilst this happened I was just dreaming and went into this place, it was like I was in a movie, with white palm trees and all these different old dead cars from about the 70s back to the 30s. Heaven to me. Anyway since it was heaven I thought best get my camera out and take some photos. then I came round and woke up. it was a while ago now.

forgot to add, I was looking at my camera the other day, and found some of the photos.
I'm going to make a bit of a photo series out of it if any one would like to see?

Kind of shows that cars are your life, I mean your favourite thing. I really like the picture with the white palm trees, gives a real sense of dream-like peace. On a similer note a friend of mine flatlined on the operating table afew years ago. She said she could see herself from above and was listening to the doctors talking. When she was back in the ward she was able to tell them exactly what they said while she was dead, and describe something that she saw from above that she would not have been able to see from the table. A real no-nonsense sort of person who you can only beleive. Show us more! Its a subject ive been curious about for a while, moreso since i used to go ghost hunting. What goes on after the 'end' is a bit of a mystery imo.

Thanks, I will post more. I have about 70 odd to go through and post up. All dead old cars in heaven. But will be spacing it out so it's more 90s tv series style rather than all in one Go Netflix style.

Yeah, I dreamt I was walking about taking photos of old cars years ago. I don't remember it though. When was the last time you saw a scrapper with 30s cars? Must of been a dream

I think if I flat lined , my "dreams" would be more inclined to include kylie minogue draped over the bonnet of a 911 turbo and smothered in whipped cream rather than rusty jalopies surrounded by barbed wire and ostrich feathers!!
(nice shots all the same though)

'80 s1 924 turbo..hibernating '80 golf gli cabriolet...doing impression of a skip '97 pug 106 commuter...continuing cheapness making me smile!
firm believer in the k.i.s.s and f.i.s.h principles.

given the choice, I would agree but you just go with whats in your head when you dream. this is more of an excuse to post loads of cars in this style, just a concept to tie it together

hmm, no. In retrospect I should have worded it a lot differently. its just a photo series I have done, since the first thing a few have said is that these photos look otherworldly - thats the silly story to go along with these photos. so its just a concept that I died during an operation and went off somewhere back in time, took photos and here they are to see.
in real life I haven't been in a hospital since 1993.
so forget all that bit.
just look at it as a bunch of photos of a scrap yard, they're all in this style, all cars are pre 1980.

I'm surprised more people didn't understand this, you worded it fine. The concept is great, and the photos even better.

Haha, I loved the story and I loved the pics, and it all would have worked out fine if it weren't for these meddling kids!
Having to explain yourself reminds me of when I was on an art college foundation course in the late 80's. Everyone smoked then, particularly at art college. So I made a name for myself and became something of a legend for my seemingly magical ability to re-use spent matches. Anytime anyone needed a light they'd come to me surrounded by a crowd of fascinated onlookers. I'd tell them to find me a dead match - there was always one close by on the floor or in an ash tray - and I'd then strike it and light their roll-up with it.
Went on for a year. People I didn't even know would approach me, and then be left with their minds blown.
On the last day, when everyone was off to new colleges around the country, a bunch of people were asking me to do it one more time before we left. I did it a bunch of times, and then, feeling generous, I offered to explain how I did it. I thought it might be a good trick for them to use to break the ice on their degree courses.
So I told them how to do it. A parting gift.
They all stared at me. The look of awe I had got used to seeing steadily turned to that look people have when they're trying to scrape the worst kind of dog sh*t off their boots with a lollipop stick.
Instead of thanking me for the trick, they all responded by telling me I was the saddest sack in the entire college, and then they all walked away shaking their heads in pity.
( I used to buy boxes of matches, shave them thin with a scalpel, bend them, paint them brown and black and dip them in cigarette ash while wet. Then I made sure I always had a few close to hand which I would drop into ashtrays or by my feet if anyone looked likely to ask. Apparently that much effort just to blow people's minds was the act of a very sad man. I'd had a year of fame and entertainment out of it. My only mistake was revealing the extend of my preparation). Pics look awesome. Post more!
