So, I have been reading threads on here of cool AF cars and thinking 'I can do that.' So I figured why don't I?
So I'm selling off all of my random non retro tat and scrapping the rest of the junk I have collected and I am building my ultimate daily whip. I need practicality, not an E class estate sort of size but enough to fit engines or wheels in for my other projects. I want Japanese (I just do). FWD? Yeah I wanted RWD but tbh its just to expensive to pick up something like that for a practical retro. Retro, 80s boxy stylings, fog lights, 3 piece rims. Economical. Like 35 ish to the gallon. Good to drive. Fastish. Bargain build:Budget £2000 to £2500
I'm hoping to do this as a sort of blog with regular updates maybe some entertaining videos of my adventures and fails.
Can, I do it? I dunno. But its gonna be a load of fun finding out. Stay tuned for fails and pics of the first part Thursday.

Ah! well there are only a couple for sale that I know of & none are hatchbacks. They didn't do a wagon, though thinking about it it would look amazing! I only have to lug 1 kid & shopping

If you'd leave the 'Japanese' demand out of the equation, than Volvo 850 is the answer tp your problem😎😎 Boxy enough, lots of room, fits the budget and you can ofcourse mod it in JDM style The japs love them some P80 wagons👍👍

That Aerodeck made me make a sex noise. Sadly none on ebay or gumtree. Plus a B16B or K24 for conversion is ££££££.
Edit: stop with the Hondas, I love hondas, I'm already looking for a 2.4 accord type S as a donor engine. Or even a 2.3 Type V.
I have already decided on the first part of the build, but you guys are making me change my mind. Stay tuned for pics tomorrow.

Well now you've all given me mega ideas that are better than the one I had. Thursday I was going to collect part 1 of the build. We were leaving at 1pm arriving at Scunthorpe at 3pm. Back home by 6 at the latest. Then...... 20171130_134029 by A Stonehouse, on Flickr It snowed a bit, it snowed some more, it stopped it started, work got busy. It snows some more. So 14:30 we set off. At 15:00 a phone call from work means we need to about face and swing by Eaglescliffe. 15:15 Were back on the A19 southbound. Getting lost once or twice, stopping for 6 quids worth of out of date fridge raiders. (mmm sweaty chicken) 17:15 arrive Scunthorpe. See vehicle (that hasn't moved in 4 months). Apply battery, apply 1 gallon of petrol. pray. It starts, a quick test drive reveals that desespite 2 inches of snow, no hand brake and crunchy brakes and wheel bearings lubricated with metal shavings, I'm gonna drive it home. Traffic is mad, snow is awful, my lane discipline suffered terribly, but despite getting lost in Weatherby services for a full 10 minutes, at 20:15 we arrived home, tucked the car away. Fast forward to this morning and I take a look at what I bought blind, in the middle of a blizzard for £200. 20171201_094159 by A Stonehouse, on Flickr 20171201_094328 by A Stonehouse, on Flickr 20171201_094414 by A Stonehouse, on Flickr can you tell what it is yet?
