Just pointing out that I didn't intend posting this as a negative comment on the owner of this car. I am firmly in the camp that it's yours to do with etc. Indeed, my ZS went from OK to rotten in my initial care due to circumstances, money etc. Hopefully I'm now able o rectify this but some people never get to that point.
What I suspect is undeniable is that the car has a story. Sadly it's one we are never likely to know. Simply having a story makes the object interesting though. Whatever its eventual fate.

Yes it's a sad sight, and I've got lots of curse word in my yard(mostly later model stuff though). In truth many folk hold on to stuff with the best of intentions and never quite get round to finishing it.
My 'Tina has sat in the garage for years, OK it's dry stored but time, talent, money and circumstance keep slowing me from making it happen, it's always "next summer".
Rather than offering insulting low ball offers, knock on the door offer garage space and skills if saving the car is so important. That would be a real positive "community" approach!

I raise you on that, my 1600e has been stored in various garages and driveways, for the last 30 years! And its STILL no closer to the road

It's an interesting thread - funny and sad. The 'Christian' sentiments of 'who am I to judge?' are heart-warming but I don't believe the fantasies of some picturesque Dickensian eccentric with a load of good reasons for hanging onto the Crapi.
I grew up in a rough corner but the milk-round I did as a teenager was one step down. The milkman was built like a Viking which was useful as we were often fending off aggro or attempted robberies. He could throw a full pint bottle at long range with incredible accuracy at any ne'er do well - I'm not joking.
This house just reminds me of the real problem customers. It was such a bad cliche that if there was a long standing rusting hulk/car on bricks there was unpaid bills/ insults. Just can't get past that. The job was horrible, the pay, the hours ( cruising out to site, winter 5am in an open electric float at 10mph) - but an eye-opener, I can't un-see such social dysfunction. It's not snobbery from me, just horror, like a flash-back.
I've subsequently worked in house clearance and you start to see the tragedy of people who can't dispose of things and also the way the state of the house reflects their mental state.
I'm dealing with a huge clearance at the moment featuring fifty years' worth of hoarding - it's extremely depressing to see how carefully and with what density everything ( total junk in anyone's book ) was 'stored' for some good reason.
In many countries this poor Capri would have been forcibly disposed of as an environmental hazard long ago.

You have all made some very fair points here from both sides of the fence - now tell me that with open arms you would welcome someone like this along with all their curse word has detailed in the picture has your immediate next door neighbour. Dude, I live next door to banger racers there's always something in a state of disrepair somewhere around...actually to be fair, ther front garden is always free of rotting wrecks...unlike mine which always has a car in a state of disrepair on the drive.... actually i'm surprised they haven't complained about me

Such beauty and sadness. Is this a Damien Hirst/Banksy installation?
