How about this (apologies for the crappy drawing, obviously it's rotated around the dotted axis): Basically a cup that is welded or bonded onto the end of the inlet. An O-ring is sandwiched between the side of the cup and the TB, then the whole lot held down with the half-moon clamps. There are a few variations on this theme could be useful I wish I'd thought of this before I did my own throttle bodies

Also if you shaped the outsides of the parts right you could use a V-band clamp or something similar

^^ Seems like the best idea. Doesnt even have to be a cup etc , just an flange welded on to the manifold .
Eradicates welding on the T/B as well , not sure how well it would cope being welded without being fully stripped otherwise.

I imagine there would be plastic bushes that would not have been designed to be removed . Then there is the fact you will need quite a lot of amps to weld that to pipework, and you would not be able to get inside to clean the weld penetration off .

Great ideas guys, much appreciated !!! The TBs can be fully stripped if that needs to be done. I'll probably do that anyway to make them look their best
