Ford office 1960's Charlie - You got a minute Bob Bob - Sure Charlie what can I help you with Charlie - Malc' in purchasing has just slipped up and ordered 40,000 extra long fan belts - any chance you could use them on the V4 that's going in the Corsair? Bob - See what I can do, I may be able to convince the design team that the alternator needs to be kept away from any heat sources.

It came to me with a dynamo that did not work so I changed it.

Right then - Ford office 1960's Charlie - You got a minute Bob Bob - Sure Charlie what can I help you with Charlie - Malc' in purchasing has just slipped up and ordered 40,000 extra long fan belts - any chance you could use them on the V4 that's going in the Corsair? Bob - See what I can do, I may be able to convince the design team that the alternator needs to be kept away from any heat sources. Charlie - I know it's asking a bit but any chance you could stick with the dynamo as he just ordered another 35,000 of those as well. Bob - F*ck off out my office right now.

To be perfectly honest Mark I'm dreeding it coming back at the moment as I don't have room for it, Chris know the space I have and what I need to do to get the extra tools in my garage it's long enough for my mk2 Focus and the Corsair and the tools I have at the moment with the draws shut with 8" either side of the cars plus storage racks for misc stuff that goes with cars and I have to add more tools and still fit the same space. I will do it, just have to plan it properly. It does look nice though. Its looking lovely, Might be worth getting some protection film to wrap it in like you see on new cars, I did our minor with 3 cars squeezed in a 2 car garage and it picked up a few dings and paint chips along the way where things got knocked against it etc.

See what Chris advises. One option might be the magnetic wing protectors that mechanics use as they have a soft underside against the paint.

My protectors on the Rover may seem a bit excessive but the chances of keeping the Rover free of dents and scratches are bigger. It takes a bit of time to make these but it works well. The base is 2mm thick wood on both sides covered with foam and finished with some vinyl stitched onto each other
This leaves not much unprotected but takes some time to clear from the car when you want to take it for a ride but i pretty sure it would have got a few scratches without these.
The car looks very nice which was more or less expected as Chris his work is outstanding. Enjoy putting it back together Pete as this is great fun. Enjoy!

Maybe the forum should have a reader's cats section.

Not not brown Pete, they're beige seats and two tone beige door cards just bad colouring from the camera phone as its poor light under the carport. Apparently its a rare interior option with the green according to the "experts". The cat is deffo Ginger though.

ok Ken You know some "experts" say "Chocolate Fire Guards are the only safe things to use" don't you have to rely on what they say. LOL
As long as the cat's happy that's all that matters.

Sorry to hijack, but kenb is that actually a ginger queen and not a ginger Tom? Yes that is a Ginger queen and a feisty little madam at that who has used more than her 9 lives already and not even 3 years old. As we have really gone off tangent here, have a Corsair pic or two taken at the recent Corsair Rally to make up for it

Well I have to admit I've not seen another with this interior combination as yet, and given the dash coverings, steering wheel and under dash associated trimmings are all beige as well pretty sure its all original albeit some bits badly faded. Started life up your neck of the woods in Walsall according to the dealer plate on the dash.
