There needs to be a better button to click on over "like" As that just doesn't do @grumpynorthener work justice! peteh1969 you must be over the moon with the progress so far! I'm chuffed to bits and it isn't even my car!

That’s a standard that will take some work to carry through to the rest of the build !
Fantastic.
I wasn’t sure about the colour first - but seeing the whole car done, I think it looks lovely.

Every day is a school day on this thread. Soft edge masking tape is a new one - thanks Chris. Lovely colour, will suit the car well when it is all built up. But I thought I saw flaws in the paint !!!! No - my laptop screen was grubby

Beautiful Chris, absolutely stunning, Can't wait to see it when it's been flatted and polished, (as it's not "baked", how long will you give the paint to harden off ??) Nigel Nigel - Thanks - I could make start on it now if I needed to but I really like to leave them overnight if at all possible

That looks stunning. I don't think there is anyone on this forum who wouldn't mind that sitting in the garage, even if it just stays a bare shell for ever more. It's amazing how much the light changes some colours. My Cortina looks a totally different shade when inside the garage to outside.

Took some of the masking off - the rest on the apertures can remain has the flatting & polishing can get a little messy at times Demasked the hinges and placed them safely out of the way Then a very important visitor arrived 'Sid' He is also approves of the colour & the results (SWMBO likes it too) Happy days - off to view sample my gin collection

If I ever get to take a year sabbatical from work, I’d like to spend it working with you. Stunning. Plus I like cats!

Wow stunning work there. Pete for gawds sake don't scratch it! Chris, not wishing to be picky but just spotted something on both front valance corners where the side bumper bolt goes into it. There seems to be an extra hole next to the one that should be there? Is there something different going in that hole? This be mine and its same on both my cars.

You would be more than welcome given the standard that you returned the police SD1 to the road in & yes you have to like cats at our place - that said Sid is a very likable cat - a proper character type of a cat

Ken - Clients instruction - I think Pete's got plans for a cable route for something in that area - no doubt Pete will respond when he reads this

That's been done as a request from me and will all become clear in the build thread as I build her back up.

Chris - As ever, a credit to you and craftsmen everywhere. It looks beautiful. Pete must be ever so pleased and (I know its all in a day's work) but you must feel so proud. I'm sure I speak (well type) for every one following you when I say no one could have done a better job. "Well done", is such an insignificant phrase but means so much.

That is quite stunning. Fantastic job. It did cross my mind that, with all the prep, it'd have looked stunning if you'd clear coated the primer!
Can I ask a silly question? Well I'm going to ask anyway. When you are painting, especially the roof, how do you stop the air hose touching the bodywork?

James James - In the old days you had to hold the airline in one hand and the spraygun in the other - most professional set ups now use a air fed mask so the main airline comes up to a splitter box worn on a belt - from the box is small airline that plugs in and is the feed to the mask / helmet - a second feed then comes from the splitter box which is a short feed airline for the gun - you still have to hold control that with one hand and the gun in the other but its a lot easier has you don't have all the weight or pull of a long length of air line
