Hello all! Thought I'd put my Saab 9000 Aero manual on here as love it! Spent a long time trying to find 1 never mind a nice 1! So found and bought this gem, she was rebuilt by Abbott Racing back in 2007 or 50k miles ago and that included engine and gearbox and has a really nice history with thousands spent. She really is a great drive and good fun, always loved these and have massive respect for them as they are very underrated and very rarely seen on UK roads these days. Always loved the look of these, back in the late 90s the guy I used for mot's at the time had the Carlsson version of this and always fancied one even then...

Very nice indeed. Looks like you've done well there sir. Cant be many good ones left now. Mine has gone in for significant repairs to engine, strutural rust and tatty bodywork.
I very nearly sold as parts but couldn't do it. Too good a car. Incredible cars once refreshed and modified.

Yeah its a shame there are soo few left and more of a shame that so few petrol heads have had the chance to drive and experience them, makes me smile everytime.
Have an Abbott racing delivery pipe and very rare BSR illuminated boost gauge on its way as well as a front splitter I'm going to try and fit to the front bumper

Are you going to go mad with the mods or keep it sensible?

Oh no not at all just subtle mods, I will fit the adjustable Koni shocks and Abbott racing springs and put some Compomotive MO6's on in 17inch form so can fit an AP racing or Wilwood brake kit, Alard intercooler and strengthened LSD gearbox with suitable upgraded clutch and possible hybrid the TD04 for more response and headroom, so nothing that cant be reversed but will make it a much more potent and capable car

Ah good man. I've been tempted to go up to 17's but apparently it ruins the ride and handling. I'll be interested to know what you think once it's done.

I think 17's are the max to what they recommend, trouble with 16's is I don't want too much sidewall flex on the tyre and the 16's seem lost on such a big car, I think Abbott racing used to put 17's on there spec'd up demo cars possibly to accommodate the bigger brakes.
The best mod I believe is a set of SAS anti roll bars so will look into those when money permits.

Thanks! I did want a black Aero with ambers but alas they never come up, I've had a Scarab Anni before but a 2.0lpt which Abbott racing tuned, was still impressive, do like the Azev A's they are easier to get hold of over the Compomotive's
Glad you still got yours, don't think theres much out there for the money that does as many things right as these and keep going no matter what.
I believe a the Aero seats where designed by chiropractor hence the comfort and stability

I can recommend the SAS bar on the back. Tightens up the rear nicely. I've got a camber adjustment kit on mine and it really sharpens up the initial turn in.
Very cheap mod that makes a huge difference.

Has the 2 tone sand aero, would quite like the rocky in there tbh but its in good shape so will suffice for now.
