I don't know if it's their pastel colours or happy wee faces but I've always had a soft spot for these
Bit shocking with how it was given back to you but at least you're cracking on with it

The headaches continue. Waterpump has decided it doesn't want to play any more, and the idle issues seem to be getting worse. In half a mind at this point to tear the engine out and start again, at least I have all the parts I'd need to rebuild it. Fortunately one thing Fury did do was make all the mounts and components fully matched, without modifying either the body or engine to fit anything.

I thought I'd wade in on this thread as the person who pit the engine in I'll clear it up in bullet point form
Rad fan not wired in - Correct it was left to curtis as we'd lost faith between us in local electricians. Curtis advised he'd connect it to the Figaro loom Rev Counter - As Above Temp switch - As Above Reverse Switch - As Above Figaro loom still present - Of course, as above
Heater Matrix - Was blown when Curtis blew the engine driving over the advised limit. ECU is suitable for 5psi. Wastegate pressure was 9psi which clearly exceeded the ecu capability despite the constant warnings to drive steadily until mapped. I'd driven it for 2 weeks before its first collection which prove to me the car was otherwise fine. To n from mot centre for example. Mot tester drove it also. I wasn't willing to replace it as the fault wasn't with myself, although a replacement wasn't sourced. Further, I replaced the engine for free, waivering the bill until inspection was made of the previous engine. I thought of this as fair service. Despite not offering a guarantee or warranty on used engines
MAF sensor - I advised it was responsible for the hunting idle. This was on the engine Curtis supplied as well as the water pump.
Throttle cable - Fixed as per my advice
Power steering - no leaks present on the otherwise clean workshop floor to indicate this. Fault must've developed on the longer journey. Regardless I shall take responsibility for its fault regardless who fitted it in my workshop
Indicators & Horn - This was a blatant oversight on my part and hold my hands up to that.
I don't normally respond to things like this but to be quite frank with you I'm not willing to accept being called a disgrace after the effots I've made for the car and owners alike. The car arrived with a good handful of issues and I'm not accepting them as my fault here. I hope this allows all who read to understand fully the situation. Whilst still not perfect it clears a good chunk of Curtis' "sheer scale of issues" down to very few things indeed. However, I'm willing to bear my faults on my shoulders. A conversion tis big will have issues and will need ironing out and was more than willing to work with Curtis for as long as it took to bring it to standard. I've not heard anything about the car since March 13th so couldn't possibly respond. For anyone willing to question my integrity I've saved the conversation between me and Curtis whereby he's well aware of all the above. Thanks all for you time
