If you think I'm running those up to Luton for Hard Chroming, Ill need a new car!!!!!! Pfft... They are light. Been in Johnny's gym for over a week. Serious losers.... About 95kgs now.๐ Hardchromer in Luton wouldn't answer numerous calls about this,so, sorry,it goes to a company in Dudley that does give a $hit....

Still on track to get finished on time. Even if it does start to resemble Thomas the tank engine... German half track (250/251) wheels?

It's been a crazy ten days. No longer even know what day of the week it is. But...There is light at the end of the tunnel. Machining finished tomorrow. Then I will have a couple ofdays off. Anyway, whilst that's on the big Cnc,I thought I might have a bit of a play. I do like a bit of conventional machining on the side... ๐Found a couple of offcuts And a couple of unloved shoulder bolts And a bonus scoop of one worn out milling cuuter What should I make??? ....๐

Drilled and tapped some holes. Reamed a couple to put dowel pins in Bolted and dowelled the two plates together Then drilled and reamed more holes through both plates That done, unbolted the two plates and put some washers in between before bolting them back together Ground the threads off the shoulder bolts and cleft the milling cutter in twain Result. Round blanks to fill in holes๐ Now,if somebody, who shall remain nameless, can find a greybeard at Goodwood next Sunday, wearing a Johnny Bravo T shirt,he might just find the answer to his question......

The best laid plans and all that....๐ After 17 days without a break,I decided to take today off. Had planned to potter around the garage, grind off some more welds and generally get going with the Ape. All was going tickerty boo until 830 when the power went off. Totally forgot that they were upgrading overhead lines down the road today. So much for that then...๐ Took a drive to Winchester to collect some exhausts instead Then detour past Rye to collect the diff casing from bead blasting So,not what I had in mind, but progress all the same ๐

A good weekend. All to myself , haven't had one of those for a longtime ๐ Went down to deliver and collect a few bit from v8ian early Saturday morning. Had a bit of a tidy up in the garage Saturday afternoon. Then Sunday was meet up with samta22 and head off to the weekender. ๐ Picked up a couple of tyres very generously donated to the cause by frโฌ$h&m1ntยฅ . And got to see his cool little van in the flesh. Bumped into Hotwire and introduced myself, had a quick chat, but he was running around like a man possessed ๐ Got to put names to avatars to faces. Met Frankenhealey and his better half. She is definitely the better half as she wouldn't let me pour the oil that Frankenhealey kindly donated to me to pour under @ Quatermasses car..๐๐. (He was off playing no mates all day, nowhere to be seen) Got introduced to @grumpynorthener . Was great to meet him and see his beautiful bodywork....err..that came out wrong ๐๐ Also met Pitstop and her other half.๐ mk2cossie also popped in for a chat. ๐ Anybody else I have forgotten, nothing personal, just have a mind like a sieve when it comes to names. All in all, a good day out. Think we will be up for it next year again,if it's on the cards, but will stay for the weekend...

One little issue, and it is a little issue,is that I don't actually fit in it ๐๐ Working on that.Have formulated a cunning plan. Just for reference sake ,for those not in the know, a couple of photos. Anybody having seen frโฌ$h&m1ntยฅ Acty van at the Weekender will soon realise that is gargantuan in comparison. Going to knock him right off his smallest van throne, but he might still have the lowest coolest van title....๐ Here is the complete floorpan on a Black and decker workmate And here is the roof panel with the two 10" scooter tyres that Freshand minty very kindly donated to the cause.
