I think I may know, but I have been thru the mill the last 10 days, and my poor addled morphine tainted brain has dropped the flying elephant Then here's to a speedy recovery so you can join in the guessing game! Me I gave up long ago in a JB thread. I used to get confused, now I've learned patience π

Is mr @johnnybravo actually using the transfer case at all? Or is that just a red herring I wonder if he is going to use the gearbox itself instead which way is the v-twin going in the Ape? transverse or longitudinal?

I think the elephant has buggered off, and i may have remembered what i was told, its all about volkwagens... Sorry to hear that the loan of my pet Elephant didn't go down well. I had hoped he would have kept you amused for hours. He has just returned home and I have given him a stern talking to,about over staying his welcome. In typical adolescent pachyderm style he said . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . He couldn't give a toss...

So yesterday afternoon, 4pm,I decided I needs me a rattlegun to wizz off some bolts. Had heard good things about this brand from various sources,so thought what the hell. Duly ordered Arrived before lunch today via courier, which,in my book,is good customer service π Found the brand new, never been raced, but only rallied for one stage, totally stupid size impact socket, bought about 20 years ago for a similar job π Introduced it to this Now, some say a Jeep is the ultimate in four play. None here as this a family show.... Straight to the screwing....right off FairPlay, this has a bit of poke π³

that looks to be a right monster of an impact wrench...if the Suzuki engine doesn't work out I'm sure you could just run it instead. Probably get a grant with it being electric and all....

Rust is lighter than Carbon Fibre which is why old Fords are so fast.

Very impressed with the rattlegun so far. Looks solidly made. Lacks the horrible plasticky feel that many cordless tools have. Supposedly has 420Nm of torque, and the way it Wizzed that nut off that was drowned in loctite,I would have to agree,it's got a bit of oomph behind it. Wasn't able to get the flange off,it too has been soaked in loctite. Will need to make a puller..

The Postie stumbled in bearing gifts yesterday π One big box with quite a few of the missing parts Start, run, and kill switch sorted Fuel pump and level sensors sorted An exhaust stub so I can copy it in stainless steel And a complete airbox. Only needed the top but couldn't find only that Still waiting on a few more bits, but inching closer all the time...π

There is also a stonkingly heavy mystery box in the boot of the car. Was chucking it down when I got home, and bitterly cold,so couldn't be arsed to take it out. Prolong your agony a bit more ππ

Johnny, Tomorrow, I'm back home for a little while picking up mail, IF I'm allowed out in the shed I will have a looksie for the exhaust stubs I have, if I still have them I'm sure there in stainless, In fact I'm 99% I have 1 so the other should be there too? ??

No worries Ian. No point in starting WW3 with the missus over a couple of exhaust stubs ππ

The mystery box unloaded from back of car under the cover of daylight Today was a good day π Cannot actually remember when I last made something for myself. So,bit of scrap Bit of making a round thing more rounder Banged some holes in it Threaded Seem to have a glut of used headbolts....Note to self, next time van makes a grinding noise, don't think it's jumped out of gear, put it in another gear and let the clutch out...Eight bent valves later.....π Anyway one bolt got recycled Bolted onto glued on flange And it whizzed right off...π Easy with the right tools....

Another wild guess. Are you going to use it to realign the rear prop, so the engine can sit central as well as the diff?

|
My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

I know that Johnny will come back with yet another 'nope' but I think it's just best to just start suggesting alternative uses for the transfer box so here is mine 'Propshaft driven swivel headlamps'
