That's bad news, as others have said if you need any thing post a list up of what you need and we all may be able to help somehow
It may be worth posting a list up of what got taken and we can all keep an eye out in case the stuff turns up for sale on the various forums/auction sites etc

JB, gutted to read this; hope the scrotes get caught and properly punished.
I've always admired your skills/work ethic/humour in your posts; just sorry I don't have anything materially useful I can send other than positive vibes. Steve

I'm based around Canterbury, I don't have lots of tools, but if there's anything I've got that you need I'll happily donate it, especially if it's making medical components!!
Post a list up here and see what people can find.

Thanks for all the offers. It’s a pain in the arris. But, looking on the bright side, I was lucky being unlucky. Could have been worse. Hopefully some other self employed person, who possibly couldn’t afford to take a knock like this was spared. 😊
Very upset to have lost a lot of Stahlwiile, Hazet,Gedore and Dowidat tools that belonged to my late father in law. Many of them dating back to the late 50’s when he was an apprentice at Porsche in Zuffenhausen. Still trying to fathom out all that has gone. There are empty spaces in the garage glaring at me,but I cannot figure out what was there.
Gutted to have lost all my new Makita cordless tools that my wife and son bought as a Christmas present. Used once. Anyway, garage repaired and made more secure than before. Still need to report it to the Police. Not that they will do diddly squat, but to get a case number for the insurance.
Any bootfairing people, please look out for German makes of tooling. Most are engraved “MANGEI” , which was my late father in laws surname. My stuff is all engraved “ JCD”

An insurance assessor once advised me to take photographs, once a year or so, of the inside of my workshop and tools, just so that it would help me remember what was where, as well as to confirm to them any basis of a claim.

My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

I have photos. But big turmoil at the moment with loads on the go and garage looking like a bomb has hit it,as it’s being used as temporary storage whilst something else gets arranged/ built 😊

Very sorry to hear this. Given your intention of building Medical Equipment, a well spun word with the local press may be worth a go.

Very sorry to hear this. Given your intention of building Medical Equipment, a well spun word with the local press may be worth a go. That’s at work with my work tooling. That goes on regardless. The burglary was from the garage at home. What I was getting at was instead of cracking on with an important job,I landed up wasting a day fixing the damage these Muppets did. Pretty pointless to break a garage door open if there is a car parked in front of it. Once they worked out why that door wouldn’t open, the broke the side door in....

woke up this morning to find my garage broken into and a lot of tools gone. Really pi$$es me off as I can now spend the day sorting this $hit out instead of making medical components that will save thousands of lives over the next couple of months. Just spent a fortune on all the steel to do the mezzanine floor in the new unit. Most of the bolts and steel delivered this week. Rsj’s arrive next week. And now I no longer have the tools to do it. Going to try and get the data out the security camera. Should have some exceptionally good photos, even though the camera has been tampered with. Then operation “let’s make the scrotes famous will begin......” Gutting to read this and hope your camera got them. Is it a coincidence you’ve had steel delivered or i wonder if one of the delivery people came back to get something they’d spotted .

Nothing delivered to home.Garage door seldom opened, and when it is,my van is parked in the driveway obscuring the view. Only open as long as its needed to get something in or out. It’s a cul de sac with no thorough fare,so very little traffic, motor or pedestrian. Looks like at least ten houses between Hawkhurst and Rye got targeted wednesday night. That’s more in one night than some years. 😳😳😳. Scrotes have learnt it’s easy pickings in these parts because the plod don’t do anything,so it’s open season. 😡😡

Dear God, some people don't deserve to live. If only this virus was a bit more selective.
I have to admit I worry about my garage. It'll set the house alarm off if anybody goes near it but I still wonder if I could make it more secure. I was planning to replace the pathetic up and over door with some 30s style ones but rather than just buy some I've been wondering about building a steel frame and wood panelling it to make it more secure. It's a lot of work though.

Had a phone call Saturday afternoon from Mr Plod informing me of a reference number and that the case was now closed. Not the slightest bit interested that there were at least eight burglary’s in about a 10 mile radius on the same night, that I know about. My love for the po po just got stronger......😡😡
And that my friends is why crime is such a lucrative pastime, when you know the Police do sweet FA about it.....
