I’ve not been a member on here long but have read others posts and thought it was time that I posted.
I bought a 1972 mk1 Escort from Wheeler Dealers in 2013. I had changes made to it, mainly to the engine as 75bhp wasn’t enough!
Anyway here are the pics… first from the show:-
I had the seats changed from:-
To:-
The engine was swapped out for a screaming 1700xflow on twin 45s:-
I got rid of the spot lights and fitted quarter bumpers:-
Recently I’ve satin blacked the back end… a lot of Ford fans hate this and prefer the coloured rear but my Dad had a 1300GT with the satin black rear and I prefer it:-
Ok… so I haven’t actually owned it since 2013… I sold it in 2014 as I wanted a RS2000 but after 3 years I missed the yellow screamer and contacted the guy that I sold it to. He didn’t do anything to the car… except break it… Unfortunately he managed to break a valve spring. The car has been stood in a barn for over a year. It was so sad seeing her after 3 years not having been treasured and used.
Anyway, it’s back home now, sort of…. It’s having a broken value spring and rods fitted… Here she is being towed away a few weeks ago. I can’t wait to hear the screaming xflow again!
When she’s back, she will be used regularly and enjoyed. I’m so glad the car is back with me. She was my forth mk1. My fifth was a genuine RS2000 that I sold last year. I moved onto a TVR Chimaera for a while but missed Escorts so got a mk2 Escort Mexico. The mk2 Escort is a good car but my heart lies with mk1s hence the yellow screamer had to come home.
