I'm making a case for coming to Europe for 6 weeks next July/August and doing various music/car events in Germany/Scandinavia/Netherlands/France (I guess that would be Western and Northern Europe?) and culminating in RRG 2018 mid August.
I haven't locked in any details other than I am aiming for flying in an unspecified location (prob Heathrow or Frankfurt) around 6th July and flying home around 21st August also at unspecified location.
What I want to know is how do I go about buying and insuring a car for travelling through Europe? It is looking difficult because everything I am reading kind of hints that I need to have a fixed abode to be able to register/insure vehicles.
Ideally I am looking at buying a camper or car with a towbar and maybe buying some kind of teardrop camper and hauling that around for a couple of months before selling it when I leave.
I have a few aquaintances in the UK through www.oldschool.co.nz who I will try and nab favours from where I can to make it easier.
Has anyone got any fantastic ideas for making this easy or am I just better off to bite the bullet and hire a campervan for 6 weeks and pay for some company to do all the hard work?
