My parents want to sell their car but looking around, I can't work out how much it's worth. Some say that it's just metal, plastic and glass with no real book value and I'm seeing others not far south of £2000! So if anyone can offer any help on this (I don't want to undersell it for them), it would be much appreciated. It is a:
MY2000 (W-reg) Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S 3dr. Dark Blue. 72k miles. Well looked after and in excellent condition inside and out, totally original except for dark tints on the rear windows. Perfect runner (of late used only locally), no mechanical problems at all, Serviced, MOT'd etc. Looks super in the sun! 😜
I can't quite believe that this would be considered a modern classic, but if the higher prices I've seen are genuine, there must be something in it!! Thanks for reading...

Always liked these, no idea on value but they a really cool little hatchback now they've shaken off the bad imagine they had. Can't be too many around in good condition?

If it is rust free I'd say put it up for £2k and see what happens. A rust-free Fiesta ZS or a Puma is a very rare thing.

It all depends on whether there is a buyer out there specifically looking for one or whether it would be sold to someone just looking for an old small car.
A good barometer of car values is to look at completed listings on ebay. But look at sold cars only. That suggests that if it is absolutely immaculate you may get about £1k for it. If not, £250 - £400 would be more likely.

I recently sold a 2007 Fiesta 1.6 Ghia with just 22k miles on it with FSH, Mot etc for £1300. Was an easy sell with such low mileage but body was curse word. I'd say £1500?

To be honest, I don't really see much of a comparison there - six years newer, totally different trim spec, less than a third of the miles.
Based on what you got for yours I'd say go and weigh it in!!!

Got to still be worth 1k plus? There aren't many left that still have arches and that have avoided the door shopping list and 4" J can brigade? Loved these when they came out, especially in that blue.

Interesting if it's standard and in decent nick, as so many have been lost to the Barry boys...
