Google ' a pinto called Dave '. It's a thread on some bloke rebuilding a pinto on a budget but also trying to get the best driveable performance on a budget. Sounds a lot more interesting than it is? We did something similar to that on another customers Pinto. Made a torquey 140bhp which in a P100 goes pretty well. We do some bigger spec engines, up around the 190-200bhp mark but they're not great on the road I like the fact you can get a fair bit more power and more drivability for quite small outlay and have a much more usuable car . Interesting stuff . Please post more , this is going to be a very interesting and informative thread .

Have you got a Facebook page or company website so I can send it to my mate who is rebuilding a mini. Possibly, I've never looked lol. A proper Facebook page is something we keep meaning to set up but with only 4 staff we're flat out and don't have time. Google Lockside Engineering and something should come up.

My own pre crossflow head for my dragster. Basically everything I could think of to make it flow - - Largest valves I could fit in the chamber without shrouding with a huge multi angle back cut, lots of chamber and seat work, ports opened right out, plus a 100 thou skim to get the chambers to the size required for the desired compression ratio.

Pair of Big Block Chevy heads I did for a friend's dragster after his original pair cracked. The previous heads hadn't been built very well leading the to the valve springs binding before max cam lift. In order to keep costs down I used the valves but dropped the seats 50 thou and removed material from the chamber to compensate, then skimmed them to get the combustion chamber the correct size. With the new springs I specced up installed it now works properly and has gone quicker than it ever had.

LOL. Yeah not the best smell but it's the only stuff that works. We hot tank everything and if it's freshly machined by the time you've hosed the part of its rusting if you're not careful. Duck Oil is the only stuff we've found that stops it quick enough to not cause issues.

We used to have a guy who insisted on leaving a huge surface table covered in it , pints of it - a bit OTT and a few litres of that in summer stinks !
Your pre crossflow head, do you just burette the head to work out the CC and what to skim or do you need to look at the piston to block height as well ?

I'm more interested in seeing the kit than boring engines :-) . I spy a Prince grinder.. I'll take some kit photos. Aye the Prince is what we use to do iron. Was restored about 3 years ago. It's got it's foibles but same as any machine you just automatically work round them once you're used to it.
