Hi all, Names Danny; I have been lurking here for a while but haven't had much to post. I've decided now is the time to start the very long process of rebuilding my E36. Not sure if it can be classed as retro but it's 20 years old now so near enough! Got the car around 1.5 years ago, due to work commitments have not touched it at all since buying it, other than jump starting it every so often to move it out of the way. Don't know much about the car as I haven't looked over it yet so you will get to see the fun from the very start. The photos shown are from when my fiance bought it as a birthday surprise (she's a good'n)... She took the photos bless her, I politely said: stick to buying the suprises, I'll take the car photo's from now on. Stay tuned, I'll update as often as possible, probably once a week as I get a day to progress.

Had 2 x E36 328i sports in the past. Great cars, good ones going up in value now as well with most of them used as drifters.

Hi mate, nice to see a manual 328i getting some love. What are your plans for it? I'm glad you've asked this; It was originally purchased to drift  but I have had a go and can't bring myself to put the car through it! So now I'm in two minds. Regardless of what way I go, I will definitely be squeezing more ponies from it. One part of me wants to bring it back to its former glory. Second part of me wants to turn it into a road going tracker. Opinions are welcome!

Yup, at my local drift days there is the dull drone of M50/M52/M54 all day. Drifting is a hard life for a car, I guess I like this thing too much to put it through it. As you say the manual 328 coupes have been going up and up in value of late.

Looks like a decent base car to do whatever you want with it. I'm going to keep my sport standard I think, I only drive it for six months then put it in the garage. That was 6 yrs ago. Before it comes back it will have the auto box replaced for a manual though. That will probably be in another 6 yrs

Well go for it mate, just getting it clean and running well will do it justice. Can't help but think these will be worth a pretty penny in years to come, when the e30 becomes rarer.

The E36 is such an underrated car I've had everyone they made all the body styles and all the engine opinions I've had newer 3 series but I still go back to the E36 I've had my current E36 for 7 years and my wife has recently gone back to a E36 (convertible) and we have no plans on selling either any time soon It's got all the right mods in all the right places I only use it in the summer months but it's just as good on track as it is going to the shops I even fitted a detachable tow bar some years back so I car even use it to tow it's such a good all rounder It's totally your choice what you do with it but if it's worth saving then I'd be inclined to do that It's getting really hard to find good ones nowadays and there only going up in value
