I am selling my wife's 2001 reg BMW E46 330Ci SE automatic.
Details:
MoT: 12 months (no advisories)
Mileage: 105k
Owners: 5
Location: Beaconsfield, 5 mins from M40 J3
Price: £1,400
Despite it's age, this car drives remarkably well. It's fast by today's standards (0-60 in 7 secs) and the straight six engine is silky smooth. The 5 speed automatic transmission changes up and down as it should, happily kicks down a cog or two if need be. In my ownership it's had a new waterpump, new oil filter housing gasket (£4 gasket from BMW took 6 hours to fit), new oil and filter and new anti-freeze. Consequently, the engine does not leak oil, the temperature gauge never goes above half way and it runs perfect. 105k miles is nothing for one of these, there's plenty of life left in the engine and gearbox. The diff doesn't clonk or whine, the suspension and steering are nice and tight. Brakes are good, the front and rear discs and pads look recent. The exhaust system looks immaculate.
The interior is very tidy and everything works. The spec is high: leather interior, front and side airbags, electric (with memory) seats, ice cold air conditioning, cruise control, rear parking sensors, 4x electric windows, central locking works off the fobs (I have two), radio/cassette player with disc changer in the boot. No nasty fake wood trim - bonus! The boot is clean, the spare wheel, jack and tools are all there.
For an E46 the bodywork is good. There is a little bit of bubbling under the paint along the nearside front arch and to the rear of the offside rear arch - nothing too serious. The metalic grey paint is good. There is the odd mark and scuff as expected of a car of this age but again, nothing too serious. The 17" alloy wheels are tidy and have four very recent tyres.
To summarise, this is a very tidy and still classy BMW. It's by no means perfect but it looks the part and drives great with no mechanical issues whatsoever. We are selling the car as my wife is about to pick up a brand new (leased) BMW. Have a look on Auto Trader - this is the cheapest 330Ci in the country. Considering the mileage and condition, the price is very fair.
The car is still taxed and insured and I can deliver (unless you are at the opposite end of the country) for petrol money but you must view the car and pay for it first. Sorry, no p/x deals, I have all the cars I need.
Please respond here or PM me if you have any questions or wish to purchase.
