Great pics - the DBR1 polished up nicely This is my trip down memory lane though - several flights in this cab when it was XR379, around Cyprus in the late 70s as a teenager when my dad worked on them, and I did some work on another (XR232) in the 90s. Good to see it’s still being looked after.

Scimjim those are great photos of the DBR1 thank you.
In your first photo, what is the white car number 25 with the smacked rear, a Lotus 11?

The first photo isn’t mine - just from the net and the second photo is @grumpynorthener ’s from the previous page. It was a very expensive and well publicised crash a few years ago at the Castle Combe Autumn Classic. The other 2 cars involved were an XK120 and a Healey 100.

Part 4 - Triumph Courier - when did you last see one of these Mrs GN posing has a prospective taxi fare (Note the daily change of the outfit - she takes Revival very seriously for which I'm very grateful) On the taxi subject And some more Along with this Fiat Multipla which has attended every year that I have been going to Revival Maroon car being a very rare 1937 Jowett 10 - the manufactures first 4 cylinder boxer engine car Another rare car this is a AC Buckland Tourer one of a pair that attend every year within the taxi fleet which by now you will have gathered is a somewhat very diverse mix of vehicles Regular queues at the rank - the taxi trips form one of the highlights for many Revival attendees Ooh - look more Minis this time clad with a rare period accessory Although ten of thousands of people attend you always manage to bump into people that you know Quite a civilised lunch was had in the GRRC members enclosure Ok social stuff out of the way lets back to the cars It went quicker than most modern day police cars too Unique in the historic racing world - Jowett Javelin - both drivers did pretty well in it too Nice manifold - Webber conversion (these are normally twin carbed) This brings a whole new concept to suspension links (well not new but you know what I mean) Lovely AC Ace Part 5 and the final Revival pic report to follow

These racing cars remind me of an old Donald duck cartoon where he raced in something similar, Always thought they were made up, but now I see, both chassi, the lack of safety and the type of engine was more or less correct :-) This flexi band spring setup on the gray car, was that common or some bacyard engineering? I see how it will keep the car suspended, but it seems a bit unsafe. What happens if one of the plastic stris brake?

No idea on the suspension question but my guess is that its been proven many times has the car gets thrashed around the race tracks

The revival is the Mad hatters tea party event of the motoring year. You go to be entertained. It’s larger than life,in your face, good old fashioned entertainment. Go to watch the cars or go to watch the people. Always makes I laugh, the posh totty knocking back £300 bottles of champagne in the morning,to be transformed into potty mouths in the afternoon. Oh, the trappings of the nouveau rich. Terrible job having to be seen and spending Daddy’s money. They are more entertaining than the racing 😂😂😂
Not something I do every year, but all good fun every couple of years. It attracts a very diverse spectrum of society.

Thank you for sharing your photos of this unique event, I wonder if the Bristol bus was an ex Crossville Motor Services Ltd Bus,of Chester, Chester registration FM, this was the main bus company throughout the North wales and Chester areas for decades prior to being taken over by ARRIVA. img.retro-rides.org/i/v/grumpynorthener/d0baf3332f9e.jpg

I quite like the 'seedy taxis' was it purely accidental or was someone being naughty?

llwynogmon You would appear to be correct, it is ex Crossville. Some info...I was trying to "quote" you in the usual way but it's broken... Ah well.
