The thing is, who ever built this clearly has talent, the workmanship as far as you can tell from the photos looks pretty good, and it would appear to be quite well engineered, but why, WHY when you have this amount of talent do you build something that looks like this? I'm not sure it looks good from any angle! Mid to rear engined V8... I'll bet it handles like a dream! Those rear arches... That spoiler! What the heck!?

For what it is and what it represents, i love it! The end result doesnt float my boat, but considering it was rolled 30 years ago it probably would have been bailed back then it it hadnt been turned into this. If it was the 70's it would be a Street Machine cover car, its a quality build whichever way you look at it, unique and eye catching (gouging?) even if it is a bit of a dogs dinner. Above all, it exists.

As s2000 says this custom job is truly horrendous. Only in America could someone take a car that in its original form is pure sex on wheels and turn it into this abortion.

Everything has potential.... I suppose. With a lot of work and some skill this Wacky Racer could be converted into something resembling an E-Type Jaguar!

I think the engine needs to go back in the front, lose the monstrous rear wheel arches and boot spoiler and it would probably look pretty good. It has to be said that a lot of questionable mods happened to cars in the seventies, it was the time that taste forgot!

Its just what some people do over there . Some of the old custom stuff over there is pretty ...wellll wacky for want of a better word. I do not think we should be suffering e type pangs of sorrow as I'm guessing they were ten a penny over there and cheap for years .
I would like to know how exactely they make that paint look so bloody awful and plastic though ? Is it there specific paint , a combination of loads of coats flatted back or what ?
It does make me vomit when i see a lovely old car which has had tons spent on it , but then a plastic looking paint job thats totally unperiod .

I agree that the 70's saw more than its fair share of automotive faux-pas; (e.g.) I agree that there's little point in having half a mile of bonnet unless it's hiding half a mile of engine. The easiest way to make this right?

I can't believe that no one has noticed the resemblance between this and Cars Lighting McQueen.

I´d take a pacer before any e type! And I mean this! Just to clarify I was suggesting Jagenstein got cubed, not the Pacer.

With the exception of the headlight choice I actually like it - yes it's a shame an e type was sacrificed for it but it reminds me of a George Barris built for TV or film custom car that imho works in it's own way that doesn't need to be judged as a car but more of a rolling sculpture / piece of furniture.
Just needs glitter!
