Been dead lucky with the weather this morning and managed to get the old bumper off and the new one on. Before After Whilst I was at it I also shadowlined the bumper trims and the door trims. The all black sport trims are going for ridiculous amounts on Ebay so I just etch primed the chrome and satin blacked them And thats how it stands at the minute, really happy with how it looks, window trims definitely staying chrome although in two minds about the kidney grills. Ran out of paint now anyway so will have to sleep on it

That's nice! Had three e39's myself, a 535i, 540i and an M5, I would happily have any one of them back (especially the M5!), brilliant cars. P.S. I've seen a few e39's with non-e39 wheels and they can look a bit naff but those wheels REALLY suit it.

Think this will be a keeper (but I always say that)

Think I'm going to go with the black kidney grills. Subconsciously I'm recreating my old E30

Thats a nice selection of E39s there. Blue one looks particularly good.

That's the beast! The M5, It's the best car I've ever owned by a long way, it was also insanely expensive to run (£2k in a year not including servicing and and fuel!) which is why I had to sell it as much as I didn't want to.

Wow thats some serious running costs! How much were your three lowered? They all have a good (but useable) stance.

The top two are running standard sport ride height and the M5 from memory was lowered 35mm (was the same as the other two before lowering), I found the undertray would catch whilst going over some speed humps sometimes.

Booked a well needed week off work this week to have some car time. Sorted a few bits of bubbling and cavity waxed the life out of the old wagon. I took the time to paint the kidney grills black and gave the car the first proper clean since I've owned it. Only took 3 hours! It went wash with g3 detox, rinse, Claybar, rinse, polish, maguires canuba wax. Used my top secret formula on the plastics, some fancy rim wax on the wheels and leather food on the seats. You may note the roof bars, £5 from the tip recycling centre. Need to make a wind deflector as they whistle a bit at 70. Whilst I was out I came back to find this stunner parked by me, I mean the BM not the eurobox! I had a chat to the old gent who owned it, had it since new and drove it every day. Didn't want to swap unfortunately!

Not done a great deal recently apart from some serious cleaning as I have found a black car looks clean for about 10 seconds! One problem I did find was my new roof bars whistling at motorway speed. I wanted a wind deflector but decent looking ones were something like £70! Not on my watch so I gathered together some bits I had in my "may be useful one day" pile. 1.5mm aluminium offcut + 3 bent L bracket = I then gave it a good few coats of etch and satin black and fixed to the roof bars with 3 stainless button head bolts. Think it looks good for the £0 spent and the hour it took to knock up. Bonus points as it has eradicated the annoying whistle at 70. And yes my car looks filthy despite cleaning it the day previous.
