A few weeks ago I was in the USA or a road trip that went from Atlanta Georgia, up over the Appalachian mountains to Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge and then to Chattanooga before heading back to Atlanta.
Not surprisingly I managed to take in some car related sights but not until we got over the back of the hired Cadillac being re-arranged;

Thankfully it was swapped without too much hassle though we did end up with a Volvo XC60 (felt like a much nicer car to drive) and a series of emails from the insurers that I imagine are going to cost me lots of money at some point.
On the way to Gatlinburg I did some film location shots in Covington that will appear soon but once at Gatlinburg the first port of call was Cooters place, the Dukes of Hazzard museum and a shot in the General;

Gatlinburg also had a pretty good film car museum;

Before I get to the car museum highlight of the holiday, here are a few roadside spots;

And now to the place I think most people on here will enjoy. Before we got to Chattanooga we had booked a tour of Coker Tires. Coker Tires manufacture classic style tyres, steel wheels, wire wheels and wood spoke wheels and at the facility in Chattanooga they store the founder, Corky Coker's car collection.
The tour was free and as there were only 4 of us on the tour we got a really personalized tour and time to have a good look around.
Anyway, enough of the jibba-jabba and on with the pics;
This was built from scratch in 90 days for a film and by the time it was finished the film project was cancelled;

Hope you liked what you saw and I will be adding the film location shots once they are processed (if you know what was shot in Covington you will have a good idea what the content will be).
