Hey peeps, considering buying a new diff to fit in my Atlas axle. I'll be using my current CROWN wheel and pinion, I believe it's an intricate job involving shims and setting up backlash etc.
Can anyone educate me? Or am I better paying a pro?

I would pay a pro for this as very few mechanics even tackle it and change your bearings while you're at it.

Pretty sure Burton power can do this. I swear I saw a film on them doing it and they had some old guy who used to do it back in the day for Ford.

Did it myself its not rocket science, plenty info on youtube available. This dif needed a new cw+p new seals and bearings new gaskets and oil, bought a shimkit for peanuts to make my life a little easier.

Bit of engineers blue and some patience and any monkey can set up a diff.

If your using the existing cw+p it won't be that big of a job. However when I had mine built this week I had new atb diff centres new cw+p new bearing gsf and oil seals so needed shimming was needed.
Easy way I gave them to my mate to build. Sorry I can't be more help
