Yes I know it's not to every bodies taste...
I looking for recommendations for painting my brake calipers (and carriers), I'll be cleaning them up with a wire-wheel which will remove most of the rust etc and then cleaning with brake cleaner. Is it then advisable to use some form of rust converter first or just paint them
What paint is recommended (I want gold) spray or brush, is E-Tech any good?

I did mine with smooth hammerite about two years ago and never had any issues with it, just make sure its cleaned up first and de-greased.

You don't need special "brake caliper paint", it's a rip-off. When I was young, i had to have colored brake calipers, so I took some DIY store paint I found in my father's basement and slapped it on. It was still there when I scrapped the car about two years later.

Japlac enamel is the best I've ever used but hammerite is perfectly fine too.

Like any paint work you do just make sure its completely clean and dry, apply the first coat then another the next day this is what i did and its still fine with all the heat from big calipers running 345mm discs Look forward to the update
