I have just put a refundable deposit down on a 1992 Volkswagon Corrado G60 Supercharged. This looks promising, and with lots of receipts and service history with the car, its from a family run car dealership in Milton Keynes, and I wanted to get piece of mind from you guys that i have picked a winner rather than a stinker. I am due to inspect the car in more detail this weekend (8/4/17) and before i go i wanted to ensure i knew what i would be looking for in terms of problems. I understand they suffer from electrical issues within the interior ans exterior of the car, including the sunroof and spoiler.
Is there any other common electrical faults that i should look out for? I understand rust can be an issue around the doors, tailgate and windows. any where else i should be looking?
It has had aftermarket wheels put on it, which to be honest i think suit it. and Coilovers, not sure which make. anything i should look out on this? Any good or bad brands?
The supercharger was last serviced and staged 2'd back in 2009, about 10k miles ago. is this ok? when should this be serviced?
From first glance the car looks tidy, but I'm scared I'm paying too much for a shitbox, please someone help point me in the right direction.
Any help would be gratefully received.
