Thought I'd start a new thread to capture my adventures with my new retro. With both of my Fiestas having been collected and a small wedge of cash burning a hole in my pocket I was on the look out for something fun which I could use and tidy up as I go!
The answer comes in the shape of a MK2 Metro. I saw the add on eBay and after the auction ended with no sale I made contact and struck a deal. The only issue was it was 65 miles away and if anyone remembers I haven't had the best luck with my recent purchases in the getting home stakes!
But, not deterred a mate and I set off on Sunday morning to collect the 'tro
Pleasantly greeted by a young chap with a tractor in the driveway and a Lexus LS400 with straight pipes. All good signs.
So we exchanged money for keys and I was on my way! No first fill up pic I'm afraid but she drove well for the 65 miles home with no issues apart from my bleeding ears due to the exhaust which is beautifully loud
Anyway enough rambling here's some pictures
So last night I decided to do my first mod! Out with the old stereo and in with a DAB/Bluetooth one I had in the shed from a previous car. I've kept the river one to put back if I sell in the future. Quite an easy job although I cut up my hand quite well on the plastics behind the dash.
With that done at least I had some tunes for my drive to work this morning which it accomplished with no issues. I'm liking this. I need to sort out the suspension though. Either re has the front or let more out of the back
Really looking forward to playing with this and using it as intended. Plus the little one likes it.
Oh and nice old members club sticker so hopefully it's been cared for previously.
