One day the wire wheeling and rust removal will end, I promise! And it's a wonderful day! Making some good progress, rear suspension stuff looks good and tidy job on the indicators

It will get there as you say. You just have some days where you step back and say ‘wow I’ve spent 8 hours on that and have got nowhere’ ☺️ I see you are tackling the Daimler like a trooper. Kudos. Very impressed.

A funny day today. Felt like i got a lot done but can see absolutely no improvement at all. Story of my life with this car. Door shut covers cut out of fresh metal sorted...well one of them and anyway. Lots of going around the car filling in small holes here and there with the welder just to tidy up jobs i had finished but where i may have blown a hole through etc and thought sod it at the time. Starting to think about colours now. Its log booked as blue so 100% staying blue but which blue. The original paint is Mendoza blue but that does nothing for me at all. Someone had done a fairly decent paint job in (i think) Azzuro blue. This is the bright blue you see. Very 70s and looks dated and is not a classy colour in my mind at all unless its on a something that means business and would be used in anger between the trees. I'm leaning towards the dark blue 'Lancia Blu'. I think this is a lovely shade and sits really nicely on the lancia shape. Anyway just thinking out loud really for now. Cheers

Chap I spoke to yesterday has just bought this. I think it looks amazing, and it's a Lancia colour I certainly see the charm with this example. I think because I’ve got a slightly similar colour on her at the moment I’m almost sick of seeing it after 3 years of cutting mostly rotten metal away that was hidden beneath it.

Couldn’t face anymore grinding and welding after yesterday’s noise session and after getting a lovely piece of metal spark filing wedged into the iris of my eye I decided to have a play with the easier, quieter part of the car. Door cards. Out with the old god awful nasty vinyl that appears to have been painted a fair few times and time to think of an alternative. Tempted to either make up some new door cards or rescue these which are actually ok and have them flocked.

I'm liking the attention to detail with the flusher indicators. Coming along nicely

Chap I spoke to yesterday has just bought this. I think it looks amazing, and it's a Lancia colour For anyone wondering.. The above pictured color is "Turchese Mereveld." There is a little bit of confusion between that color and "Blu Mendoza," which is darker but can still look a little green depending on the light. My car was sold to me as the turquoise color, but is actually the blu mendoza. Probably my two favorite Fulvia colors though. By the way, Lechler will still mix the original colors for you if you want them (lancisti.net has a paint chart of all the lancia color codes over the years, not just fulvia if you need that for reference).

A few more bits cleaned up and painted. God this process takes some time doing properly but it will be worth it. Got the welder out and beefed up the plates also. They were shot. So that’s something else improved which is a piece of mind.

Cleaning up the front suspension arms. Those tubular designs aren’t bad are they for a 50 year old car. Got to adore the Lancia engineering...most of the time. Not all the time. I'm a bit stuck with this particular part at the moment I can’t get the ball joint off. I’ve tried and tried all day but no movement.

The Blue Spanner, on the outside edge, and some prising/smashing/swearing/giving up always works! Have a look at some poly bushes while you're at it. I got mine from a Czech bloke on Fbook: www.facebook.com/zoltan.k967

Ball joints can be rusted in place and hard to remove. Soak them in a 50-50 mix of ATF and Acetone for a week and then have another go. I'm in the US, but the UK lancia club has a tool you can loan out for getting the lower one out.
Doesn't help that the shapes of the arms make it hard to get them blocked up in a press easily.
