Because there is no finer feeling than being on holiday in the middle of a field, in driving rain and gale force winds, and realising you cant shut the window because that winder mech you bodged has just let go. See, now, anyone who has owned clapped out old sh!tty cars before knows... You don't ever, ever open a window unless it is a serious emergency. And you do it knowing that there is a fair to middling chance it won't close again LOL My Volksrod has, in theory, opening windows. I choose not to chance it though!

LOL I basically rebuilt and reshaped all the seals with liquid rubber and silicone. I'm surprised it worked but it did. Car was best described as tatty anyway (but bloody quick, maybe one of the first handfull of turbo converted air cooled road cars in the uk).

I made my own seals for the Volksrod by cutting up cal look seals and using tigerseal to put them back together. I was "fairly" happy with them but they weren't perfect. Then I saw someone's splitty that had cost a fortune and been done "professionally" using "Top Quality Seals" and... Well... By those standards mine were absolutely perfect and better than factory LOL (I still need to pull my windscreen seal out and re-do it really, but then for something that will never, ever be driven in the rain, I wonder if there's any point!).
