Beers replenished, we rode over to a neighbours farm to check out the hunting hides and paths they had created on 200 acres of farming and hunting land. Despite it being my last night or afternoon in the US, I felt such a strong affiliation with these people, real people, honest people who had taken me into their world. Dennis is the consummate host and friend. During this trip, I had learned more about him and his totally unselfish and generous ways. You would have to go a very long way to meet another quite like him. Off into the Soy bean fields. At one point I made him stop and reverse to this thistle.... Look at the second from bottom left flower..... Neighbours pond. Seems they are only tenants, but have put masses of work into the land they do not even own. Then we headed home as Debbie had bought, you better believe it....... 2.5 inch thick mature fillets on Saturday for Dennis to cook. With amstrip,of streaky bacon around the edges held in place with a tooth pic, theymlitterally fel apart on your plate, cooked to medium rare. I had a Rum and Pepsi to celebrate my last evening. Thinking this was it. But not Dennis...... Nooooooooo Gary who we met at the auction on Sunday morning had bought a few things. So,after dinner, armed with more beers, in the golf cart, we headed into the sunset, a few miles away. State of the day when we headed out. Have I mentioned adventure?? Or that things just never are boring around Dennis or any of his mates?? Seen me dirt farm road connections, then asphalt. Hammer down Eventually into the estate where Gary lives. Gary, all round good guy, plumber by day. His son Paul's pride and joy. Cutouts..... More in a while.

Monday Morning Dennis was out early to work. When I woke up my first thoughts were that it was my last half day. BUT THEN I REMEMBERED LAST YEAR. Anyone not aware of this..........?? But more importantly...... This still waited. Anyone still about? Stand by

But more importantly...... This still waited. Anyone still about? Stand by Any clever bods understand or know why Photophukit has deleted this image of Kelly last year. Surely, it is not pornographic in any way. Well, not as much as most people's minds are. What a pile of steaming horse poop te "service" has become.

Waiting indeedy Good man. "Anyone still about". ...this is a Grizz joke .. right ... ....errrm what's the 'naughty' picture then ? not you on the bear potty again ! No it was not. For some reason it has removed the photo we had last year of Kelly, pointing g at where her heart was...... If anyone has a different host that would like to host the pic, I can email it and them, if You can then return to me an IMG tag so that I can post it on the various forums where this story is being posted. PM if can help, Thanks.

SO IT SEEMS PHOTOPHUKIT DOES NOT LIKE OUR KELLY OR HER PHOTO FROM LAST YEAR.
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT DECIDED THIS (And deleted her photo everywhere including the original post)
ANY IDEAS ??So back at Dennis' place I got up, did some internet surfing, packed and organised my baggage. I had to bring back a set of rear brake shoes for Martin's '65 C10 and some other bits, so Adam gave me a spare backpack to use as my allocated hand baggage, along with my travel backpack. Once all was kind of sorted, it was time to head out as I needed to go do some final shopping at my favourite store...... Walmart. Up to now I had purposefully avoided using Adams Hellcat SR/T for commuting and holiday driving due to the 17mpg it offered on a good day. 707 hungry, angry horses eat up a lot more fossil fuel than the 550 horses of Dennis' Hemi Challenger, and on the back of a recovery truck for 50 miles, it increased my overall mileage even more. Adam had been telling me almost daily to take the Hellcat out and to use it, and if I broke it, we would just fix it. So today this was my view...... Leaving the farm. Headed back after my shopping trip, and being very sensible with it, I realised that this is an amazing piece of brutal engineering. I could never exploit more than a third of its potential. But the grin on my face in the dark cockpit of this car started to hurt after the first hour of driving it. Did you note the fuel prices in the photo above. Possibly some of the higest that had been seen here in many years. Today was also the 11th of September, a somber day in Americas history, and Dennis' birthday. I had seen someone's gateway when we went to the auction, and as always, clocked it and stashed it in my memory for another day. Today. Thank you Adam for letting me use this incredible car, freely. It has ticked an obvious Bucket list item, I had not even realised I had. At 12.30 Dennis came back in the Dually to pick me up and take me to the airport. We had to pop in at Mittler Bros Racing to check the metal work of the truck they were rebuilding again. New steel down this side and the whole rear bed on the other side. I love this stuff. From there we headed down the i70 toward St Louis, via O'Fallon where I picked up eye drops at Walgreens, then on to his Mum and Dads home where she had offered me another decoy duck for my home. I love these things and other older traditional stuff We also saw this guy..... Keeping up and passing traffic. Everywhere we drove, flags were at half mast, in respect of all the lives lost and injured of 9/11 And then the moment I had waited for...... Oooopppps...... No RiffRaff served here. It is really a very good place, check out what Mr Google says. Yup....... Headed out for dinner now. Later.

Re: photobucket - if someone complained for some reason, they might've just removed the image blindly. Reupload it with a different filename and I bet it'll be fine.
Much jealousy at you getting to drive the Hellcat!

Thanks craigrk It certainly is what I experience when travelling the USA. could have warned me....I would have put my safety specs on!!! ;-) Ahhh yes, guess I could have. Speaking of decoys. This one was added from Dennis' mum and dads collection. Cool vintage stuff collected on the way to Ethyls Some of the stuff inside the restaurant. There really is too much to record on film, unless you want to just do a threadon Ethyls restaurant. Who would have dreamed all those years ago that Adam would one day progress from this, to a Hellcat and full Sprint cars. Just checked........ Seems I have uploaded over 430 photos from this trip. Not including videos. That's a lot. Hope you guys have enjoyed the trip so far. Need a break now

Ryan - Looks like you had something of a pretty good time out there - although it looks like the type of holiday that you need another holiday for to recover from it - we are just planning our next trip out to Canada (SWMBO is Canadian) she knows of everything that will tick my boxes whilst out there that I have not already seen - due to the vastness we pick a area and cover that rather than attempting to do the around Canada in 10 days thing where everything just becomes a blur & distant memory - will be heading stateside too whilst out there has the brother in law resides in Wisconsin - Anyhow if you ever miss the big grunt of the V8 & hundreds of BHP racing that they do in the states you will be pleased to know it happens here in the UK too - 600 BHP - 1500 kilo single seater purpose built car, 400 metre oval shale / tarmac track - racing anti clockwise - rolling start - 20 + cars per race - very similar to the states format - but we do it better - why ? because we over here in on the little island of Britain allow CONTACT - it's a formula that I was involved in for 15 years - long since retired but go to spectate now & again - more info here: brisca.com/Home/Whilst on the subject of vintage & V8 - something trundled past the end of my lane and deposited this to the hedgerow - I have left it there 2 weeks but it's not been reclaimed - now recovered from the said hedgerow I reckon that it's probably Ford V8 Pilot - I have more than enough of this type of stuff to fall over so if you want to add it to your little collection pm me your address and I will stick it in the post to you - Chris

Regarding the hubcap, "Yes please" is the right response. I look at the Arena Essex NSRA Swapmeet every year for a random V8 hubcap, never found one to buy. Happy to have it hanging around here and pay postage. Will PM an address. Travel is an awesome mind expander. I would love to do States like Montana, Colorado and others, but with more time to get places.

So we made it into Ethyls I was welcomed back like a long lost hero, we also ran into Rob who had cooked at the birthday party. Once settled, we ordered drinks and twice cooked Chicken wings. Man... !!! They are championship winners. Dennis still had a truck to paint later..... So only iced tea for the poor guy. Me...... I walked about and chatted, and got a few pics for you guys. Lunch was over all too soon and we had to head out to the airport. Checked in, more sight seeing. Loved this...... Check out the left hand phone. Free calls locally. What a service St Louis !!! I will be back shortly, once I upload the last few photos.

So, every now and then we meet people in life, who touch our lives in different ways. Just look around yourself. I have met so many and they are all different. Of course you bunch of old men (and perverts) are mostly waiting for another one of these very special people. It is hard to try and convince anyone when I post the pics up below, that Kelly is an awesome, intelligent and generous hostess or waiter in a restaurant that serves great food, and is a very regular spot for many local and not so local people. When I walked into Ethyls and she saw me, she instantly recognised me (maybe in Dennis' company) and gave a squeal of joy or recognition and charged me and gave Dennis and I a really good welcome hug. You only have to look at my face........ I have not had such a stupid grin on my face in over a year, well, possibly since the last time I saw her. And she is a tiny little sparrow of a woman. Perfectly proportioned, topped of with a glorious smile. She seemed genuinely pleased to see me. And I prompted her to pose for a few pics for the Internet Forums. So these are for all of you guys. And that includes the gang who contributed so generously earlier in the year to my Charity Cycle ride. I have. It and will not forget your generosity. Thanks again. Thinking of what you guys are thinking........ (maybe a bigger tip?) Of course Dennis got a turn too...... lucky guy. And while we were eating, I asked Dennis to take a pic of Kelly on the barstool, standing behind me, making me look good, maybe over my shoulder....... You better look carefully... Yes, I am sitting on a tall barstool, and the sparrow is sitting on my shoulders..... My head felt all warm too. And my tongue just hung out. Then I finished my chicken wings, paid up and we left for the airport. Where Dennis dropped me off. ............ The End. Errrmmm, well, almost. But I guess you will all just walk away now, you, have seen the star attraction. Hope it was worth the wait.
