Without going off piste, the world of waste management is Bullplop. Legally the producer of the waste is the liable party. However most people believe by hiring a skip, they lose all liability to the WM company. It's all wibblepoo. Outsourced beyond comprehension. Some easy streams have a value, rather than a cost. Which is when people get arsey about you skip raiding. As for your wonderful steel bench, there's 2x steel office desks with drawers... I'd guess 1950's dumped outside our office awaiting a trip to the bridge. Sad as they'd be right up DPs street. Bench was a winner for sure Amazingly that there are always stupid rules, often made up on the spot, I suspect.

Weird day..... Woke early, fell asleep again and then woken by 07.30 by Harley making tiny little noises to see if I was alive. Had to run around to get some stuff from shops, needed a new hedge trimmer as the one I have abused the last 6 years is dull as hell now. Needed some flat headed self tappers and Danish Oil too for some deck chairs Imhave to give some attention to. Eventually home by 12.00 and then down to the garage. Had planned some truck time today, and also wanted to start investigating a door or fender. Looking forward to trying these Tungsten Carbide tips out as well. Prozac needed to be completed after I ran out of time last weekend. Ghetto repair part one was to raise the front end a bit, no need for jack. Ex Aygo front lip fitted and screwed in place. While under there, I realised just how messed up,the underside of the front end is, before my time for sure. Fitted. Paint next. Completed. Lower than expected, that is good then. Happy with the result. Also took the wheels back to Black all round, but wonder if I should redo the red trim. By 3.30I had called it a day, and came in for a drink. Even Dukey, not too clever most days, got in on the action, licking the bottle of 7 UP in my hand. Bootfair and hopefully truck time in the morning after other chores are done. Later.

When you go look closer, you find they all have a specific and specified profile, so only the grill and tailgate panels differ. Problem with the wheels and tyres to get the look, is cost. From a Β£300.00 plus the money spent on it, you would be looking at a lot more cash, but I would love to get the look. Still need to tidy up the lower bar of the original bumper. And look out for low kerbs.

Thank you to those who have contributed and read this thread of mental health help.
I am amazed that it has gone to over 100000 views.

Hey Grizz , never met you , but hey this place means I'm not alone in my garage as I know all across the country theres other guy's doing the same, we are all part of a community, last year when i had my blip my garage and projects kept me on the straight n narrow , think most of us start with this hobby because we cant afford others to supply the labour etc and then before we know it its our way of life.
Upcycling has even become fashionable , but the only limit is our imaginations and I'm not sure when I was last fashionable or even bothered about it! Not one for bootfairs myself but do love a repurposing whether thats material or a persons outlook and you've contributed more than you'll ever know to the guy's on here with your wit and as you say ramblings , as I often say ,

I donβt go into all the sections, even after all the years on here. 'lets crack on with it mush'I have been told off recently for wasting the sites bandwidth, despite using my own Photophuket account for hosting photos, and for not sticking to the retro rules, so I cannot post any of the random stuff many people seem to like. But I still post up on all the other 8 forums I frequent. Of course I was wrong, so just need to change what I do. I also decided that I will not be posting this years USA Road trip with craigrk, which promises to be a humdinger, running from Missouri, down to New Orleans, then up through Texas, Kansas and back into Oklahoma, then back to Illinois and up to Iowa for a factory tour at kelderman.com/ As well as Le Claire to see the American Pickers Guys on here either as it clearly does not fit the bill. If people are interested at all in following the 2018 road trip, I will post a link to Garage Journal. Yep, what he said. I have often said, I can go out and buy stuff new, but it gives me a buzz to look at stuff and knowing I kept money in my pocket to spend on something else.

But I still post up on all the other 8 forums I frequent What! the 'other' stuff is equally interesting as the more normal build thread stuff. If this is enforced in a wider sense then we'll lose loads of useful content from other contributors as well. My only comment would be cross posting the same images etc to multiple threads can be a bit frustrating. The road trip is ideal 'general' content. I'd hate to have to start visiting other sites to read up on things, that's one of the things I like about RR is that it's a one stop shop.

I'd hate to have to start visiting other sites to read up on things, that's one of the things I like about RR is that it's a one stop shop. Nothing of the sort has been said regarding content . πAll that was said was you seem to have got into the habit of copying and pasteing exactly the same thing onto every thread you have running, or are involved in, on this forum . Like Mark says gets ,this gets very frustrating when you click on another one of your threads only to find exactly what you have just read copy and pasted there π Have a look at @grumpynorthener threads. Look at Frankenhealey threads. They both manage to post everything they are up to in their numerous threads they have running. And the best thing about their threads? You can click on any new posts on any of their threads and it's new content, not what you just read on their previous thread. I also like the way Frankenhealey has added links to his other threads in his signature as it's a lot quicker and easier to see what else he has been up to. π So, get the linky linky signature sorted to make it easier for everybody to follow , and start a new road trip thread in the General section. π

If people are interested at all in following the 2018 road trip, I will post a link to Garage Journal. Definitely interested - can't believe you've been told to rein it in! The irony is, I came to this forum from a link you posted on Garage Journal. Will carry on following your amusing ramblings/roadtrips/restorations/repurposing over there. As one of my mates says as a toast: "All power to your drinking arm!" Steve
