Just a suggestion but would it be possible to view all three of the new sections on one page?
I often like to spend my work poop time browsing cars for sale on various forums not always looking for anything specific would be nice to be able to see all for sale on here on one page.

I dislike the change, and I'm still disappointed we can't advertise cars that are 15 year+ old. Perhaps start your own forum that meets your personal criteria.....like the creator of this one has?

I was merely giving feedback, sorry I have a different opinion to other people. On my own forum I like people to give feedback if I make a change, perhaps I was wrong in posting it here, I shall delete my last post.

Your feedback was invited and welcome, even if we didn't agree with it.

It seems, since the new layout, a lot of ad titles don't have the model year in them

The change is a good shout. It will please those who only see certain cars as classics and allow others to search other cars. Would it be possible to bypass the headers for a global search. Part of the fun is seeing a car that you would not normally consider buying. The Lada with the SR20 is a great example of that ; I was tempted. But overall, well done mods . Are you going to allow cars to get old and enter the RR fold yearly? Sticking at Y reg, as it's been for a few years means 51 and newer cars aren't welcome, when cars of that age were previously...... It's a bit like seeing the Beatles as modern because you're 100 years old. There's no plans to make it a rolling limit. That said, it's the prevalence of 'interesting' post 95 cars that prompted the changes. It's never been the intention of the RR For Sale section to provide cheap everyday cars...it's just been a side effect. Allowing 02 (etc) cars would massively increase the 'banger' content without adding much of 'interest'. When that changes significantly, so might the cut-off. I am with pieeater on this one . The pre 00 thing has been in places for years and years now. A decade now I guess? I dislike the change, and I'm still disappointed we can't advertise cars that are 15 year+ old. You can, on Autotrader, or Pistonheads, or ebay, somewhere with an appropriate audience. While I agree the logic seems flawed. Those who have bought cars of that age will know there is a minefield of curse word out there. I know, I actually sacked off buying a certain type of modern (Audi TT for those wondering) because of the constant rubbish I saw out there and I almost sacked off buying my M3 for the very same reason; 80% of the cars were not as advertised and were being sold with ££££s waiting to be poured into them. For that reason I'd be happier getting a car from a known member, who has a tangible history of the forum rather than going to find a car where an owner doesn't know his dipstick from his washer bottle. It's part of the reason I have not bought a cheaper car lately ; they all seem to be off death's door and TBH I (and I'd hope others) have better things to do than looking at cars not "as described" and fixing it most weekends ; we have projects for that . Of course, that is not to say they don't exist out there but I'd like to think it would be less prevailant on a known forum . And TBH I CBA with signing up to a forum and whacking on 50 posts just to go and buy a car that may be better than what PH, Gumtree and the rest provide. Just my 2p on the matter .

The pre 00 thing has been in places for years and years now. A decade now I guess? It's included X reg cars for quite a while now and has been extended to Y reg with the most recent changes. The line might not be moving fast, but it is moving.

I'm happy with the new set-up, but just one question/observation.....
I've seen a lot of vehicles posted in the for sale section, which are too new for RR and have subsequently been removed. On the odd occasion, however, vehicles newer than the age limit have been allowed to stay as they have been considered within the ethos of RR.
Is there any scope for posting such vehicles in a separate section? Even if it is the "Links to eBay or elsewhere" section. If a vehicle is considered interesting/appealing enough to the RR community I think this would be beneficial. Obviously, if it's not considered to be interesting/appealing enough to be relevant to RR then it should be removed like anything else.

Obviously, if it's not considered to be interesting/appealing enough to be relevant to RR then it should be removed like anything else. Exceptions are very, very rare. Unfortunately, a lot of people think their car deserves to be an exception (because it's rare, or an unusual colour, or cheap, it 'might be a good runabout for someone' or it's an MG or something) but 97.6% percent of the time they're totally wrong. That's why it's pretty much a 'no exceptions' scenario. Those that have managed to stay on the board have been more than worthy and obviously so. If you're not sure whether your car is an exception - it's not.

I don't tend to browse the full For Sale section now. Splitting it into three sections is one section too far

Unfortunately splitting it up into sections means it's a lot harder to browse for sale ads, in my opinion - particularly if you're just after a nice retro without any specific requirements (you don't always know what you're looking for!). I'm not convinced by the arbitrary date cut-off's for each section - think it was clearer before. Bang in the middle of the 1980's splits similar cars for sale and 'the 80's look' across multiple categories. I appreciate there are some emerging late 90's retros that are coming to light which prompted the update, however.

Why can you no longer advertise 'new' cars on here ? See the newest area you go up to is Y reg.
Would it not be worth while creating another page / area too, in case people are wanting to trade shiny new cars, for something with more character and a bit older, can be as simple as calling it 'Modern Motors' etc.
Not a hate / argument / berating post, just a general enquiry.
Thanks

Why can you no longer advertise 'new' cars on here ? See the newest area you go up to is Y reg. You have never* been able to advertise 'new' cars here. Used to up to 2000, then X-reg, now Y-reg. * I say never, but I mean as long as I can remember

Never is the correct timeframe.
For those wanting to get out of their modern and into a retro I'd suggest this tried and tested technique:
1. Sell your modern car somewhere like Autotrader, Gumtree, Schpock, Facebook, Ebay or your local newsagent's window.
2. Get something old and cool from RR.
3. Win at life.
